My family and I had the pleasure of being assisted by Alex, and I have to say he truly made our stay unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Alex took genuine pride in welcoming us and went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable. He took the time to explain everything about the hotel in such detail, with patience and enthusiasm, that we instantly felt at home. What stood out the most was how much he clearly cares about his guests—his professionalism, warm personality, and attention to detail made all the difference. It’s rare to come across someone who takes so much pride in what they do, and Alex is a shining example of that. He set the tone for our entire trip, and we are so grateful for his kindness and excellent service. Alex is a true asset to the hotel, and we can’t wait to come back knowing we’ll be welcomed with the same level of care. Highly recommend!

This hotel is situated is a nice location for a visit to Traverse City - you can easily access many restaurants in 5-10 minutes drive and the beach is just outside your hotel room. The beach is very nice; actually a surprise considering I had no expectations of beaches on the great lakes having only spent times on Ocean beaches in the past. You can walk up and down the beach for a mile or more. Our room faced the ocean and allowed for nice mornings and evenings on the balcony. I would 100% stay here again. The breakfast is different from other hotels. You are given a choice of 4 boxes that are delivered to your room in 30 minute slots. Its a fine solution if you enjoy a smaller breakfast; but I could see where others might want a full meal to start the day, in which case this would leave some people wanting. The options we choose included: (A) Donut, Fruit, OJ and Water (B) Sausage Egg and Cheese sandwich (put it in the microwave), Fruit, OJ and Water The rooms were big and spacious and more importantly, CLEAN!

Lobby was nice, check in was easy and staff was kind. Pool was dirty and filled with sand and not very big - with small children the indoor pool was one of our primary reasons for staying. Shower was not properly cleaned. Rest of room seemed fine. Noisy but to be expected. Bed was comfortable enough but all of the pillows were completely different which was odd. Breakfast box options just pretty awful but my child was happy enough with Trix and the gogurt in his. Would definitely prefer a continental style, we chose cereal boxes because the other options were strange (donut, yogurt, cold premade breakfast sandwich or cereal) with fruit (one unripe banana) orange juice (one of those plastic cups with a foil lid) and a bottle of water. It was fine.

This was first visit to Grand Traverse Resort. We loved it. The staff was excellent. We will definitely stay there again next year when we make our trip to Traverse City.

They do not have a good breakfast! Find somewhere else to eat breakfast!!! They send a box to your room with a frozen sandwich, and bad fruit!!!
