Very convenient location right next to the Ikebukuro
Station. Not much space since we had 3 twin beds in the room, but it was adequate for us since we're not in the room that much, and bigger than comparable rooms in Tokyo. Staff (front desk and housekeeping) are very friendly and professional. Only gave 4 stars for Eco-friendliness due to the mandatory cleaning of the room after every 3 nights' stay. (We were there 7 nights, and would've kept and used our towels longer without housekeeping cleaning the room, however, understand their policy due to hygiene concerns. They cleaned our room the day before our scheduled departure, which I thought was a waste, since we were leaving the very next morning.)

Cheap and right outside of Ikebukuro station
The location is perfect and right outside of Ikebukuro Station on the East exit so that was convenient. We booked this hotel for its location and just to get a cheap place to sleep. It was a bit run down but the staff were really great.
There's more pros than cons. Yes it's a tiny room but I mean what room isn't tiny in the typical Japan hotel?
-Close to the station
-It was quiet for my stay, I was facing the tracks and it was fine. Like any hotel, there were neighboring guests were loud in the halls but that's just etiquette
-Staff were always super nice and helpful
-A/C heating was great
-Has all the amenities you need
-Right next to a family mart, really easy to get the random thing you need at night
It has some cons but they are workable:
-Their wifi is not good for streaming but it works fine if you were downloading the shows the watching it after
-Sometimes their ventilation wasn't very good or strong especially if you have to naturally do certain things in the bathroom
Very near to the train station. If you are someone who is after a retro old school vibe, this hotel is for you. Yes it's old but it serve it's purpose. Its clean and comfortable. I would stay here again
I had a great experience at Daiichi Inn. We arrived early but they stored our luggages for us. Staff were very polite and kind.
The location could not be better than this- 1-2 minute walk from Ikebukuro station. Given the location, I had expected it to be noisy through the day and night, but surprisingly the noise level was low and I slept very well. I recommend their breakfast- it is worth paying extra for sure.
Dai Ichi Inn was bery close to the local train station. Easy walk to shopping and dining areas. Good place to stay if you're planning to take metro or shop nearby.
Ventilation in bathroom was poor, resulted in bad smelling bathroom.
Didn't realise laundry was a paid service, staff did suggest a nearby 24 hr coin laundry (with bad reviews).

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
This is near the JR station. It is also within 10 minutes walk (with pulling luggage) to the bus stops for limousines to both Narita Airport and Haneda Airport.
However, the room that we stayed seemed rather dated, albeit its cleanliness and availability of amenities for our selection.
We like this hotel location so closed to train & metro station plus very convenient to find food & supermarket.
Hotel staffs do not speak good English but they are helpful and friendly!

OK hotel with room for improvement
Ok hotel. The location is super, right next to Ikebukuro station. Room size is also bigger than most others in Tokyo.
AC is powerful. The mattress and pillow also offer great support so you can have good sleep.
Downside:
1. lack of coin laundary facility on-site altho a nearby coin laundry is only 2 min away.
2. the arrangemnet of the hotel is odd. The recption lobby is on the 2nd floor and there in only 1 escalator with no elevator acceas to it. So it goes down from 5-11am, to facilitate those checking out, and upwards for checking in after 11. If you want to leave your luggage with the concierge and come back after 11am, it can be a bit challenging trying to carry all your suitcases down the spiral staircase.
Also the concierge service is a bit below par. There had been a couple of times my online shopping and lost luggage arrived, but i didnt get any notification from the hotel. I had to make the initiative to enquire.
Also, when I tried to use luggage delivery service to the airport, the concierge said it has to be at least 2 days in advance. I couldnt do it because the airline lost my luggage and it didnt arrive until within 2 days. I asked the concierge is there same day delivery. All he could do was apologize.
I then used google and could find same day luggage delivery service and did it myself. I didn't mind that but I thought concierge should be able to help with things like this. I'm familiar with Tokyo so not an issue, but imagine those not familiar.
