The water park and beach sports are why we stay at the PIC. My kids really loved it. We knew going in that it wasn’t going to be a luxury hotel with five star service, however I was still amazed at the level of difference between PIC and a luxury hotel. Perhaps it’s cultural difference, but in every other country that has a bellperson, that role brings luggages to your room. At the PIC, they were surprised that I expected them to. Also, there’s no longer anyone manning the lagoon for kayaks. Guests have to retrieve their own kayaks so rude guests can just jump the queue if they happen to be standing where guests done kayaking decide to leave their kayak. There is, however, enough staff to man the guardhouse to ensure guests are wearing their bracelets even if they are completely not dressed for water activity as my MIL just wanted to watch her grandchildren play for a bit. And speaking of bracelets, they want you to wear it your whole stay, which we’ve done in the Caribbean, however, those resorts provide real bracelets, not paper ones that are supposed to be disposable, which is what we received from PIC.
There’s so much I didn’t like about this hotel, but I’ll be honest, nothing was such a deal breaker that I wouldn’t stay there again just cause my kids loved their pool and kayaking on the beach so much.
