This hotels is much like a western hotel in its room size and layout. Having traveled through Tokyo and Nagoya so far, we felt spoilt when we arrived at this hotel. The only improvement I would like to see is an English TV channel or two.

This was an excellent value for the money location with big rooms, kitchen, bathroom ….. the biggest room so far we have stayed in during our vacation in Japan. I would highly recommend it for the location only a block or two from the train station, close walking distance to restaurants and unique shops. The beds are very comfortable although I don’t care for the pillows so I have been sleeping on the throw pillows. Unfortunately I picked up a nasty virus and have spent the last three days convalescing in the room. So disappointing but at least I’m comfortable.

This was a great place close to the train and bus depot, an easy 5 minutes walk. The room had two large twin beds and a tv, lots of plugs. A great plus was a one-piece washer/dryer for laundry, no coins required. A nice fridge with a freezer and a cook top and fruying pan and plates. Highly recommend!

It was amazing, and we wished we had stayed longer in this hotel. It was like having your own little appartement right next to the station and the convenience store. Beds were comfy, and there was a microwave and washing machine in the room. Walking distance of the old street for which the town is famous.

Comfort stay with DIY Hida beef dinner

Hotel is right next to the station, close to a lot of major tourist attraction. It’s also close to the bus station for day trips. The kichette in our room allowed us to a DIY Hida Beef dinner (beef from the famous Maruaki, which was always full, saved us a long waiting time). After all a very satisfactory experience.

Conveniently located next to Nohi bus terminal (which is right next to Takayama Station), transportation is a short walk away. There is a Family Mart within eyesight (2 minute walk). Since we arrived before check-in, they graciously held our luggage while we explored the area. Check-in was seamless and they provided one key with wooden charm. The building and rooms were really like studio apartments; the overall space was huge (comparing by Tokyo standards, with full size refrigerator, full kitchen (with some utensils, bowls, plates), separate toilet from shower, seating area, and balcony with space for drying laundry. Speaking of laundry, the in-room combination washer/dryer included two laundry pods; our wash/dry cycle took about 4 hours. Overall, I’d highly recommend staying here. I wish we had more time in Takayama to enjoy the room even more!

It was good. Room was large, just as pictured in hotel provided photos. Large family rooms are on two top floors. They do note hot water is limited to 600L or 60 min of shower and offers free access to their sister property to use their onsen facilities instead, 8-10 min walk away. Family rooms had a few free drinks and bottled water. Ask for kids amenity bag at front desk. Large washing machine also worked well, our first machine in Japan hotel that actually dried clothes thoroughly.

I stayed just 1 night and Location was perfect. Just a short walk from bus and train stations. Layout of the room was great, very nice and spacious. I will be recommending to friends and family and hoping to visit again when I’m in the area next time.

Very good location, 5 mins walk from Nohi Bus Terminal and Takayama Station. Manageable walking distance to morning market and old street. Family Mart convenience store opposite hotel. Small kitchenette, microwave and washing machine in room. This hotel offers good value for money.

Disappointing having regard to previous reviews

Based on previous reviews we were disappointed. It is very well placed for bus and train stations (not relevant to us) and had a very convenient on site car park (which we made use of). The room was large and well decorated but not spotlessly clean like the other Japanese hotels we have stayed in during our trip. The kitchen was inadequately resourced with cooking equipment / utensils and crockery. For most of our party the beds were uncomfortably firm.
