Welcome to Thenell's Beach House, hosted by Simple Life Rentals! This fully remodeled two-story waterfront home is conveniently located between Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor, approximately 5 miles north of Sturgeon Bay and 1 mile south of George Pinney County Park (Stone Quarry) and a public boat launch. Gorgeous views of the bay await you in this home that sleeps 4 (reduced from 6 due to a Village ordinance on 8/27/25, please reach out to us with questions).

Enjoy the sunset views from the home or the large deck overlooking the water. You will have panoramic views of Potawatomi State Park and the Sherwood Point Lighthouse. You can hear the waves lapping the shore as you cozy up around the fire pit. There is plenty of space for the kids to run and play outdoors. It has a semi-private beach shared with Thenell's Cottage next door.

Thenell's Cottage is a great additional rental option if you are looking for additional space to sleep up to 4. We welcome groups; feel free to reach out to us to book both places!

A bar and grill restaurant is within walking distance of the cottage. Enjoy a tranquil getaway just minutes from the many attractions Door County has to offer.

Amenity + damage protection waiver includes:
• Bed linens, pillows, blankets, and bathroom towels. (Please bring your own beach towels)
• A starter pack of essentials which includes toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, and garbage bags. Due to septic systems, we do not provide facial tissue. One each of travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom.
• PEACE OF MIND damage protection covers up to $1000 per stay for accidental damage that is reported prior to departure (excludes any pet damage).

Home Truths:
This is a quiet community with residential neighbors. This home is geared towards quiet family vacations. Due to the proximity of neighbors, we cannot accommodate loud parties, including bachelor, bachelorette, or other rowdy gatherings.

Beautiful spacious home with great deck facing the water & large yard. Beautiful sunsets. Clean and modern. It was easy to get to all attractions & we appreciated being in a quiet & less congested area. Could use updated fry pans & a fan or two. The entry keypad failed to work on 2nd day but thankfully the mgmt company responded quickly. Highly recommend!

This house and property are beautiful. Check in was very smooth. Everything was just as described and as the pictures showed. Kitchen is very nice and well stocked with cooking utensils, dishes, etc. Beautiful lake views from the deck and you can walk right to the water’s edge too.

Great location right near the bay with a view of the bay from the back deck. Decorated well. We had a group of 4 and had more than enough space. Drove a short distance to Egg Harbor for a day of shopping, lunch and massage, while my husband and son went on a private fishing excursion. Caught some salmon. They had so much fun!The next day, we drove the opposite direction into town (Sturgeon Bay) for more shopping. Literally endless places to eat, shop, get smoothies, coffee, or grab a drink within a short drive. Our host was great to communicate with and always responded within a short amount of time. Great house. Great host. Great location.

Our friends from Arizona wanted to hike indoor County. I am so happy we found Thennel’s Beach House. It was perfect. Clean. Well equipped kitchen & fabulous sunsets. Our only comment would be: we were there during a very hot time so greatly appreciated the AC. It would be helpful if there were some ceiling fans in the bedrooms to help circulate the air. Loved the quiet location and it was very clean. We wanted a waterfront location and this worked well. The only thing we did not realize is there is another small property right in front on the water that has the water access. There wasn't anyone staying there so we were thankful we could sit along the water by the smaller VRBO home. Wonderful, responsive hosts!

Beautiful spot on the bay. 200 feet from old time northern bar/restaurant, good food and great drink, and nice people. The house was very big, clean, quiet, and in a great location. Everything you would need for any length of stay. Loved the whole experience.

Nice place but…

House was nice and clean but it took around an hour to get in because the code they provided didn’t work. There was some confusion about which house we were staying at. Then the back door lock wouldn’t work and they never came to fix it so we were unable to lock up at night or when we left.

Our first time in Door county. We had a great time and the house was perfect! Plenty of space and the cleanest rental property we’ve stayed in. Not far from Sturgeon Bay Main Street area & the rest of the peninsula is very easy to get to and from.

Beautiful Location

We enjoyed our stay at Thenell’s Beach House. The house was spacious, clean and in a beautiful neighborhood. The water was just steps away. Our door code didn’t work upon arrival but the management company was super fast to respond, quickly resolved and followed up later. Highly recommend!

Very Nice house

The actual property was better than the pictures. Super clean and looks newly renovated. Location was great, a few miles out of town but perfect for us. Access to the bay for fishing or swimming (water is cold). Plenty of room for a family of 4-6. Great to walk out to the back deck in the early morning and enjoy nature or come back and relax after a day out.

Wonderful Waterfront Home

Thenell's Beach House was an amazing place to stay!!! It felt like home while we were away on vacation. Everything was exceptional...clean, comfortable, well stocked kitchen, beautifully decorated, spacious bedrooms, great views of the bay from the shared beach area, and a welcoming yard/deck/campfire area. The property management company was very helpful and prompt with a question I had after booking the property. We can't say enough good things about this VRBO property, we would definitely stay here again!
