About this property

Sylvan Float Treehouse: Our First & Sweetest Treehouse!

The Sylvan Float tree house is a treehouse in its purest form.  Floating above the forest floor this arboreal abode is suspended between a red oak and hickory. With a full wrap around porch and cozy lofted room, the tree house is designed for two.  Great views, fully enclosed room with heat, and a gas stove allow you to relax and feel at home after a day of exploring the gorge.  Located five minutes from the Martins Fork trail head, spectacular hiking and climbing is not far after you leave the canopy and step onto the forest floor.  Waking up in the tree tops has a magical effect you have to experience for yourself!

Please note that this treehouse is up a bumpy, sometimes muddy, gravel road.  Small two-wheeled vehicles can make it to the cabin, but four wheel drives have an easier time.  There is also a lovely 1/2 mile walking trail that connects from our main office parking lot to this treehouse, you may park there and walk up if you'd like.

- 0.2 miles to Martin's Fork Trailhead (used for Gray's Arch access)
- 0.75 miles to the Nada Tunnel
- 0.75 miles to the Red River
- 4 miles to the Daniel Boone Coffee Shop
- 6 miles to Miguel's Pizza and Natural Bridge State Park

Treehouse adventure

I feel there should have been a little more disclosure of how primitive this facility really is, starting with the drive getting in to it. If I had of driven any of my other vehicles, I'm not sure I would have been able to get to it. Having a flashlight with some batteries was not mentioned anywhere and using a battery powered fan for circulation was a little rough. I didnt remember reading about a composting toilet, but maybe the excitement of staying in a treehouse distracted me a little. Either way, staying there was an adventure, I did enjoy it, and I would recommend it to anyone, but with full transparent disclosure. If i would have been more informed and more prepared, it could have been an over the top adventure. All in all it was still a fun and relaxing adventure. Thank you.
