Special boutique hotel with killer views.

Owners very friendly. Although the restaurant is only offering pizza and salad the pizza was delicious and the cocktails yummy. Steve one of the owners was so friendly. Rooms are all different. Not a place for anyone mobility challenged as everything is up and down lots of rocky stairs. View is incredible.

I liked staying here and would give it a 4.5 review score. Starting with the negatives the bathroom had a mold smell and I think it was visible also, the shower area was pretty small, but otherwise the room itself was very comfortable & clean. It also seemed that the mold smell decreased after the first day but my mom told me I had just gotten use to it. Lol! In any case, I didn’t report it because it seemed to lighten up a lot after first introduction. The staff was nice & helpful. The view was spectacular. Morning breakfasts were predictable but satisfactory overall. You typically have eggs, fruit, bagels, hash browns, sausage, tea, orange juice, water, a pastry - types of options. The restaurant canopy suffered some damage from a storm but it was still nice with beautiful views. The dinning options were pretty slim as they work towards rebuilding their menu. They had pizza and a pasta dish that I recall. My mom & I ordered a pizza. The toppings were good but the crust was thin and truly add nothing - it needed at least some salt. lol! But I was surely hungry that nice and ate with little reserve. All in all it was a relaxing place to stay with excellent views.

Although The Mafolie is an older hotel, it has a unique charm to it, and it offers a breathtaking view of the harbor that was visible not only from our balcony, but from the restaurant and pool, too. Our room was clean, it was quiet, and the staff was awesome. A great value, too.

Lovely Hillside Retreat

Mafolie is a lovely property perched on a steep hill with truly amazing views. The staff, especially the lovely woman at the front desk, were incredibly helpful. She assisted us with an early check-in, many, many questions, called (numerous) taxis for us and was genuinely welcoming and kind. The property itself is on the older side, but even so it was clean and well maintained. During my stay the restaurant was unfortunately closed due to construction to fix recent hurricane damage, but from what I saw it looks like an amazing place to sit and eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, I hope they get it fixed soon! All in all a lovely spot and would definitely recommend!

Although The Mafolie is an older property, it offers a breathtaking view of St. Thomas harbor. Each room has a small balcony, and the view from the pool area is spectacular. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The view, the villa, the staff! We stayed in the lower level villa. It was beautiful and spacious with breathtaking views. Special shout out to Steve the bartender and Elizabeth the GM. They made us feel welcome. Just be aware that there are many stairs to maneuver so guests with disabilities might not be able to accommodated. Our villa had a spiral staircase entry so it was a little tricky with a big suitcase. Restaurant service was limited but the kitchen in the villa was fully equipped so we made meals which was economical and fun. One of the best accommodations I have ever been to and I have travelled extensively. I recommend stopping at a grocery store on your first day. We were glad we did. I would stay here again if I return to St. Thomas. Loved it!

Amazing hotel with incredible staff and views

We had a phenomenal stay at Mafolie. The team there is very kind and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, clean and if anything doesn’t work, they fix it immediately. The breakfast is very tasty and like the rest of the hotel the restaurant has amazing views.

The staff was wonderful and the little choices they had in food was great but the restaurant and bar is temporarily closed to the public and only open 4-8 for guests with pizza and Caesar salad or house salad available. Pool bar was unavailable too.

St Thomas getaway

We spent three nights at Mafolie Resort. Due to wind damage, the bar and restaurant were not open all hours. The friendly staff, tried to create options for food and drink. The hotel is a little “rustic”, but we enjoyed everything about it. We never had an issue with parking. As described, the views are phenomenal. This is like a bed and breakfast/ boutique hotel combined.
