Our stay started off fine, but several things happened that made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe. We checked in around 4 PM and before leaving for dinner I made sure all the interior doors were closed, including the bathroom and master bedroom doors. When we returned later that evening, those doors were open, which was strange because we clearly remembered closing them.About an hour later, around 9 PM, we suddenly heard someone entering the code to unlock the front door. A woman began opening the door to the unit we were staying in. When she saw we were inside, she immediately closed it. I asked why she was trying to enter and she said the owner asked her to stop by and take pictures to make sure everything was good for us. I questioned why someone would come after 9 PM when check-in was at 3 PM. She kept apologizing but couldn’t give a clear explanation. She called the owner and the only thing mentioned was that the owner would check the cameras.After that we did not feel safe. The neighborhood also didn’t feel like a great area since we heard police sirens frequently. While sitting on the patio one evening, someone even threw fart bags toward us. Another downside was that 2 of the 3 bedrooms had no TVs and the only TV looked more like a small computer monitor.I never received any follow-up from the owner, only a message asking how everything was. Because of this experience, I would think twice before booking this listing.
