Everything was going great at the beginning. They let us check in early which was appreciated. What went wrong was when we turned in our keys at 4:30am (early flight) we got notified that we didn’t pay for the room. Room was paid for through Expedia. Don’t know what went wrong. They said they had a new system. I had them take a picture of my receipt stating room was paid for and gave them my phone number and left. Wanted to make our flight.
This place double charges MORE. I paid in full on Expedia for two nights. Upon check in there's the standard security deposit. I found I was charged and the transaction was posted a total of $600 on that day by the Guv'nor Inn. This is way higher than the room total. Upon calling to tell them of the huge charge, they claim to not have information and transfer to extensions that are not answered.
The room was not clean, hair everywhere in the bathroom, our room was at the end of a hallway Rm 226 and a door way separated the hallway people coming and going all times of the night A person was blow drying their hair at 3 in the am . Old coffee pod in the coffee maker! Just not a clean room in general! The air conditioner was cycling through every few minutes, we had to just turn it off when in the room. Problem with our check out because of new computer system? Manager was called and it was resolved .

We had a great stay. Bed was smaller than expected and toilet was hard to use as we are plus size people. Staff was amazing. Loved the look of the building
We booked 3 rooms. The beds were good. The rooms had layers of dust on the bed frames, table base and on the tv box

It was a fine place to stay. Property is getting a little tired but clean. On-site restaurant pub is good. Large rooms . Bus access to downtown Water Street is frequent and 2 minutes away.
Tired motel type accommodation. Air con needed and was noisy.

Did not have good water pressure, like a lumpy shower but it did the trick. Staff were really good. Pub food wasn’t my favourite. The walk downtown seems short but it’s straight uphill. Overall place was good for that I paid. :)
Would say our room with two double beds was "boutique". It had everything we needed. Lovely clean room with good air conditioning.
When I entered the lobby it smelled of smoke but everywhere else on the property there was no smoke smell. Perhaps the lobby is close to the smoking rooms.
When we arrived at the hotel the staff was friendly and helpful. We got to our room and realized quickly that it was dark and stuffy and old. But the bed was clean. So we were going to stay but then we went in the bathroom to find hair in the sink and dirt/dust and hair on the baseboard heater and hair in the bathtub. On top of that we couldn’t get the door the door to lock properly. We didn’t end up staying the night and are still trying to get a refund from hotels.com
The lady at the service desk was beyond excellent, she really went above and beyond.
The rooms how ever stink like cigarettes. The 1st room i was in...i had to be moved it was that bad!!!
The 2nd room was slightly better. But because the airconditoners are right above the front door...anyone outside smoking. all that cigarette smoke goes right through the AC and into the room. I shut off the AC. Which made it slightly better. But then i roasted all night. I woke up with the worst headache, and had to have a second shower because all i smelt was cigarette
I wouldnt not return to this motel. Very unpleasant
