We liked the location-close enough to town to walk. The free continental breakfast was great. Parking available if you rent a car. The bar/restaurant on site was great for breakfast and dinner, and the restaurant staff were super. Overall, The Inn at Tamarind Court was the perfect place to stay for our first trip to St. John.
I stayed in one of the single rooms with shared bathrooms for three consecutive nights in 2025. Against all of my expectations, this hotel was one of the quietest and peaceful places I have ever stayed at. It is conveniently located (for those of us without mobility issues) within easy walking distance of the Cruz Bay businesses as well as the Starfish Market. The daily price was very reasonable compared to other properties on St. John.
The only drawback is that the room electricity is not backed up by generators during the frequent power outages experienced on this island.
I am a older female traveler and found the single room accomodations at Tamarind perfect for my sojourn through the National Park at USVI. It was such a joy to find a room perfect for a single traveler. The location, parking, food, and room was perfect for me.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Location is close to the port, supermarket, car rental, and other restaurants. The stairs are tall, wide, and a rocky. So be safe. The staff is friendly. Nice upstairs porch with table (4) seats on each side
The room was comfortable and quiet. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel restaurant and bar was very convenient with good food and drinks. Overall a pleasant experience.

Disliked: Room comfort
Great restaurant, not so great room
The best part about the hotel is the restaurant. Great food and pleasant atmosphere, with fast and efficient service. You will not go hungry, even with the free breakfast. Good selection of teas. We truly enjoyed breakfast with the pretty yellow bird and chickens. Really! The Inn is not easy to access. Drive down the street half a block, turn left over a pot-holed road, left again past the greeting donkey (for our arrival), and try to find a spot to park. The room is average at best. You are warned with a $150 fee for leaving sand in the room - hardly avoidable in this sandy beach resort! Good access to downtown-just past the turnaround circle.
The property location was great. It was outside of the middle of town, but close enough to walk to/from everything. It was also right next to a great breakfast/lunch take-out bakery to aid in your daily outings. The Inn's restaurant was wonderful. Breakfast, dinner, drinks and the live music were perfect. We especially enjoyed the BBQ night.
On our arrival we were an hour early, but were able to check into our room. While putting the groceries away we noticed the mini fridge was warm and a huge puddle of water coming from it. Went to the office and they came up and noticed it was unplugged and plugged it in. Nobody offered to clean up the water spill, as we had to use one of the bath towels. Then as we walked into the bathroom we noticed water all over the floor in there as well. Every time we stepped on the laminate flooring brown water seeped up through the seams. I then went back down and mentioned that to the lady behind the desk and she said you are lucky to have been able to get into your room an hour early. REALLY? Like I should be grateful you let us in an hr early and now just deal with the black moldy water seeping through the floor. We laid another towel down and 2 days later it finally dried. On the third day my wife and I were taking a nap around 3pm after our beach excursion and we were awoken to somebody trying to jig the door open. As we dressed and made it to the door they were gone. The continental breakfast they give you is coffee, a small bowl of overly ripened fruit, and some toast. Oh and expected to tip. Two different occasions I seen the cook in the back making out with one of the other cooks. One night the cook was puking next to the building behind the kitchen. The parking isn’t lit up and there are like 5 spaces available first come first serve. We will never go there again.
Inn at Tamarind Court is conveniently located within walking distance of the shopping and dining areas on St. John. The rooms are bare bones but clean. Parking is available although difficult to find at first. Communication is top notch and many suggestions for dinning were spot on.
This was our 2nd stay at this hotel! Stephanie was so helpful and check-in was a breeze. It’s not a far walk from the ferry and to the main shopping center. The grocery store is just around the block. Which made it convenient to get water and food to pack for the beach. They also have chairs, snorkel gear and a cooler for use during your stay. Each morning they even filled it with ice! The food at the little dining area was great! Not only did we have breakfast there we also had dinner as well and the fish of the day was incredible! I’m very happy with our experience and plan on coming back again soon!
Very helpful and friendly staff. I was not expecting modern or new. I did expect it to be a little better maintain. Bathroom sink was quite loose.
Appreciated beach chairs available to take with us.
Room was not the cleanest. 1 small bar of soap and a large shampoo bottle. Tattered towels. No room cleaning or towel replacement. Continental breakfast was a joke. A small biscuit, two grapes and 3-4 pieces of melon. Coffee included, but no juice. $1.00 extra if you want ice coffee! Would never recommend.
The property is very well maintained. I stayed in the solo rooms. It was very comfortable and has everything you need. The grocery store is a 5 minute walk and there is a lovely Cafe provisions for delicious sandwiches. I would definitely stay here again
