outstanding except for the elevator

Great hospitality and people. The bartenders in the front lounge was not the friendliest, but otherwise everyone is exceptional Only negative I can think of is the elevators. One was out of order and the other one worked. It's very very small and has a small weight limit that my wife and I and our luggage were over the weight. Created a real issue when trying to check out when periods were busy. They said they were new elevators but they're waiting on the city to approve the ability to build bigger earlier.

Th voco is ideally located for guests departing on a cruise. Hotel clean, courteous staff and an excellent breakfast. Negatives: only two lifts that cannot cope at checkout time. No hooks for towels in bathroom, insufficient thought as to where to put suitcases ( beds that allow suitcases under the bed would be a major plus).

Beautiful Reno’s, clean and comfy bed. Great location, walked to everything. Stayed here about 9 years ago and this was so much better. Only downside is small elevators so you have to wait at times.

Great Pre Cruise Property

We stayed at the Voco Hotel the night before departing on a Princess British Isles cruise. This hotel was formerly a Holiday Inn. The location of the hotel was wonderful, close to shopping and restaurants all in walking distance. The reception staff was very friendly and check in was quick and easy. We immediately had access to our room two hours before the advertised check in time. The room was stylish and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped although a bit on the small size. We had two mesls in the hotel and the food was delicious although a bit pricey and the service somewhat slow. You do have many options for other restaurants just a short walk away. The hotel is located about two miles ftom the cruise terminal and cost a flat rate of ten British Pounds. I would not recommend walking to the cruise terminal. Overall this is a great choice for an overnight stay prior to or following a cruise, I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

I didn’t like the fact that they charged an early check in fee. It’s obvious that the room was ready and waiting. We were traveling overseas with a lot of luggage, what were we going to do? Our previous hotel waived the early check in fee and we were earlier at the previous hotel. When traveling overseas your schedule is determined by the airline and check out times of other hotels and are not within our control. I feel like an early check in fee for a customer who is already paying a lot of money is just taking advantage.

Staff were cheery and helpful, the rooms were clean and well appointed, the food was excellent! The only downsides were the tiny showers, the elevators were ridiculously small and the stairways were shut down for maintenance.

Hotel is beautiful. We enjoyed it very much. Only down side is to whoever decided that the AC in the rooms would only stay on for 3 hours before shutting off on its own. Waking up twice a night to turn the air back on was not the best way to spend a vacation. The staff acknowledged that there was an issue that was being worked on and were very fair to us in the end. My wife and I are already making plans to return to this area in the future and will stay at this hotel again
