For the more active holiday makers there are many possible activities such as canoeing, fishing, cycling walking, bird watching or taking to the waves in an authentic traditional Swedish wooden rowboat! A bit further away, and very surprising, there is a visit to the Sala silver mine where you can really explore the depths. Or take a boat trip to the Mälaren, with a view of the beautiful city of Västerås with the largest interior port in Scandinavia, and its beautiful boardwalk with many shops, restaurants and sights.
