Holiday Home Tramte In Vineyards, Škocjan, Slovenia

This traditional watchman’s shelter has been converted into a cosy cottage and transformed into an idyllic holiday home for 4 people. Surrounded by vineyards with extensive views over the valley and forests, this cottage has so much to offer at any time of year.

The entrance is on the ground floor, where guests will find a spacious living area with a sofa, wood-burning stove, TV and large dining table. The modern, open-plan kitchen is equipped with an induction plate, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and coffee machine. Wooden stairs lead up to the bedrooms.

Outside there is a covered terrace with a BBQ, where guests can enjoy eating al fresco.

The owners are working towards making the property more sustainable, with steps such as single-use plastic banned, recycling bins provided, double glazing and water-efficient toilets.

Sleeping
Bedroom 1: On the first floor, this spacious bedroom is furnished with a wooden double bed, side tables, a wardrobe and an armchair in a cosy reading corner. A glass door leads out onto a balcony
Bedroom 2: Tucked under the eaves, this bedroom also has a double bed, reading corner and a wardrobe.

Bathroom
There are 2 bathrooms, one on the ground floor and one upstairs. Both have a shower, basin and WC.

Location
Halfway between Ljubljana and Zagreb, this cottage is in the heart of the idyllic Dolenjska region, famous for its wines and thermal springs. Ljubljana (1 hour) makes a fascinating day trip. Zagreb, the Croatian capital, is only 1 hour away, so is also an option for a day out.

The historic town of Novo Mesto (25 minutes) has everything visitors might need in terms of amenities, plus paddle boarding, boat hire, rafts and canoes. For golfers, the Grad Otocec golf course is 20 minutes away. Or visitors can relax at the Smarjeske Toplice Spa (15 minutes).

Ljubljana’s international airport is a 1 hour 30 minute drive.
