Rainforest retreat 7 minutes from the beach and next to CapeOtway National Park

Rainforest property - 20,000 square metres of mountain ash and tree ferns - new floors, electricity throughout the shack. Cloud forest garden with rare plants from around the world. Minimum stay 3 nights. Pls note that there is no internet reception inside the house (but two bars reception up the driveway) and no BBQ or oven (but there are four gas cooktops and a griller and a microwave in the kitchen). There is no TV or DVD player. Guests will need to bring their own bedding, linen and towels.
Unique pristine cool climate mountain ash and tree fern property 300 m above the sea level but only 7 minutes drive down to Skenes Creek.

Can encounter koalas, birds, wallabies etc.

4 hectares property with easy access from the Apollo Bay back road via a well- maintained access road and drive way.

Enjoy visiting waterfalls, tree too walks, beaches and so much more and then being able to return to your private retreat with a fire place in a pristine, shady rainforest environment.

5 minutes walk from the property brings you to a spectacular lookout with views down the hills, over the coast and all the way to Apollo Bay.

Parking available on the property. Two bedrooms (with a third one that can be made available upon request but pls note that some personal belongings are stored underneath the bunk beds). Old school but cosy and comfortable. BYO bedding and towels. No internet or TV (but internet reception on top of the driveway).

Cool climate, wet environment so please beware of slipping hazards and bring warm and rain proof clothes and shoes. Kids are welcome. No pets.

Little veranda at the entrance and outside master bedroom.

Stars on a clear night will blow you away.

Great for nature lovers, bird watchers, meditation etc.

As we have no council service at the area, we ask that our guests please kindly take their rubbish with them.

There is no oven but there is a microwave. Please ensure that the dust filter is clean and the water container (top LH) is empty before and after use of the dryer. Pls kindly turn all heaters off before leaving. No parties or events allowed

Rainforest Getaway

Great spot tucked away in the woods to unwind, unplug and slow down. We took full advantage of its close proximity to the beach, Apollo Bay and great walks. Definitely recommend if looking to reconnect and go digital free.

Great little cabin surrounded by forest!

We (family of 3) stayed at this property for 4 days over the new year holidays. The cabin provided a great retreat, nestled amongst a breathtaking array of trees and vegetation. The fittings and furniture were old, but well maintained and the beds were comfortable enough.We did not like the 10 min trip(each way) on a dirt road to get to and from the the main road. The humidity of the surrounding forest makes lighting a fire in the wood burner (challenging) so be prepared to relay on main heater as the place can get very cold, even during summer. Overall, a good experience for anyone who is looking for clean, affordable, well located accommodation around Apollo Bay's area. we and found it very impressive and

Beautiful property nestled in the forest.

The owner was very easy to deal with and the cabin is old but beautiful. The perfect place to switch off. Our only gripe is that the photos of the rental are a little misleading. There are no ocean views and due to the landscape and the way the cabin is positioned, there isn't much room for kids to play outside safely. Regardless though, we would stay here again for a weekend away.
