Hidden gem in Summit County

We were very happy with our stay at the BW Ptarmigan Lodge. It was a fantastic rate for a mid-winter stay, and we would gladly stay here again. The rooms and buildings may seem a bit dated compared to some of the newer properties in the area, but they are immaculately maintained. It's clear they care about the condition of their rooms and their guests' satisfaction. Property has easy access to Lake Dillon for summer activities and is a short drive from Keystone, A-Basin, Loveland, Copper, and Breckenridge.

Broken thermostat, dishonest

Thermostat was broken so the room was stuck at 75 degrees all night even with the window open. We complained that night and the next day but they said we'd have to talk to Expedia for a refund. When we did and Expedia contacted, they lied and said there were no complaints from the room

The location of the hotel is great. The lake viene en on winter is awesome. The rooms was very clean. The maintenance staff were very friendly. The building and decoration looks older than they appeared on the pictures. It’s a good option for the price. Be aware that you would have to walk outside the building where your room is to get to the breakfast area. It’s located in a separate building a little bit far from some rooms.

My friend and I stayed her for 3 nights while we skied the local resorts. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the property. 2 nights we walked to local restaurants for dinner. Just enough distance to stretch our legs. Every night we relaxed in the large hot tub. Morning breakfasts included a large variety of food and the hotel staff continuously refilled hot food. This is my new go-to hotel for Summit County visits.
