Great local pub, well located for Chichester and .
Excellent pub on the outskirts of Chichester. Our room was at the back of the pub in what might have been originally stables. Converted into very nice rooms with en-suite. Very quiet when we stayed, but might be noisy in the summer as next to the pub garden. We enjoyed cooked breakfast for the two days we stayed and a evening meal on one night. The pub was popular with locals for lunch and dinner, which says a lot. Convenient for local walks and the Roman Palace. We got the bus from outside the pub into town rather than drive £5 return. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would visit again.
We had a nice room in the courtyard of the pub. It was quite simple, but had everything we needed and was comfortable. The breakfast we had was excellent - especially the butcher's sausages.
Enjoyed a lovely, romantic mini break here. Very clean room (no.4 in the garden) great shower pressure, working tv, tea, coffee, hair dryer, iron, easy check-in. Excellent full english cooked breakfast and fruit cereal etc. Although its a pub inn its a very peaceful room because the pub is more of a gastro pub and everyone went home by 10pm so we had an extremely good night sleep. Recommended!
The owner and his wife, and every other member of the team we encountered could not have been more polite and helpful. We'll definitely be back next time we're down that way.
Special shout out to the fish pie, if you eat there, order it!
Excellent hosts
Room a little tired, but clean.
Breakfast very good, generally all the food option great.

One night stay
Very welcoming staff, and food was excellent both breakfast and dinner. The only reason I’ve marked it down a little was the mattress in one of our rooms didn’t fit the bed frame! The mattress was a double on king size bed frame. I also felt that the taped up loft hatch in our room was untidy looking which is a real shame
Only stayed one night in order to visit Chichester,
The staff were very welcoming and everything in the hotel is of a good standard. The Breakfast was very good and plentiful.
We will definitely your this Hotel again .
We have just returned from a 3 night stay as a surprise birthday treat for my husband at the Bull’s Head and have had the most enjoyable time. I cannot praise it enough. Of all the various types of accommodation we have stayed in over the years, I have to say this comes out on top. The food was absolutely excellent, having eaten in every evening and both trying different meals each time. The breakfasts are to die for & will be sadly missed when I return to my morning porridge! The actual pub is very old and maintains all the charm of its ancient history- so cosy, with little ‘nooks’, plenty of seating to enjoy your food. It has a very friendly atmosphere which reflects on all the bar & waiting staff. They work extremely hard & are so friendly & helpful. The outside seating area is perfect, plenty of places to sit & enjoy last of evening sunshine.
We stayed in a converted barn - one of four - I think it is next in line to be refurbed. The owner and his wife Nicki are so friendly & nothing was too much trouble - and I must say - after the few days we were there, made us feel as though we’d known them forever.
Thank you so much for our stay & you certainly haven’t seen the last of us!

Very easy ground floor access with own entrance, handy if, like us, you were arriving after theatre and pub was closed. Well appointed room, excellent, freshly cooked breakfast to order, and friendly staff.
Strongly recommend
Extremely pleasant stay the staff were friendly and efficient, The room was spotless and the beds were comfortable. The only minor issue was the lighting by the mirrors we found inadequate for getting ready for a wedding and it would have be nice to have a full length mirror. Breakfast wad great and will certainly stay again. Many thanks for making our stay most enjoyable.
Nicki and Craig were awesome! The staff were just great - friendly and very helpful, even when they were very busy. Food was just great - you have to try the sunday roast - you won't be dissapointed AND the breakfast was enough to get you through the dya. Highly recommendede english pub!
Great traditional english pub! on site chef was just awesome - food excellent - and breakfast - wow - enough to last the whole day. Nicki and Craig were awesome hosts!
A traditional pub with good accommodation and lovely food catering for vegans and vegetarians . The staff were friendly , attentive and professional.

Friendly, but chaotic welcome! We were asked to order our breakfast, but there weren't any breakfast menus left so the person who checked us in hoped he remembered everything we could have!
The room was fine, needs updating, something the owner told us over breakfast they would be doing.
Breakfast was very nice, perfect poached eggs and delicious mushrooms, and the fresh fruit was welcomed.
The owners were both very friendly at breakfast - and helpful about where to visit locally.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, food was above average pub food. Rooms fine but getting a bit tired. Convenient for Goodwood event we were at.

Ok
Both the evening meal and breakfast were very good. Really tasty food. The room itself was only ok. Stains on carpets, rickety toilet seat that squeaked, stained ceiling in bathroom, dated decor and facilities, All little things. All in all it was fine. It is rated a three star and it is, but with a higher charge. Not sure it should be £145 a night.
