It’s ok. Nothing to rite home about.

The property is one of the new “Self check in” environments. The lobby is nice. The cafe area is actually pretty nice. The rooms are sparse. There is no kettle to boil water which is a BIG PROBLEM in China. You don’t even JOKE about drinking Unboiled water there. The bed is a king sized bed, but it’s wedged in the room, and up against the window. If you had two people one would have to crawl across the bed to their side, and then they would be sleeping against the window. No bath tub. Just a shower and toilet. The sink is tiny. The food is a different story. It’s dreadful. Everything on the menu is microwave crap slapped on a plate. The breakfast is awful as well. About the only thing worth eating was the cold cereal.

Freezer room

Kindly do give the guest the choice of switching the air con off or on . It was freezing the first night and even after setting the temperature to 25 - room was super cold. Had no choice except to ask your engineers to come and literally shut off completely from the main electric supply unit . I believe there should be given a choice to the guest if they want air con to be on or off when they feel . Rest all was excellent .

It is a very new hotel hidden inside a shopping mall. It took me more than half an hour to find the place, and the taxi driver was not helpful at all. It is spotless, the staff are very friendly, and the breakfast coffee is great.

Well designed hotel catered to a hip audience. Lobby has lots of cool spaces suited for meetings and working. The rooms are no frills but well designed, though I would argue that in China, a hot water kettle (or shared hot water dispenser in the corridor) is a must. We picked this hotel mainly because it is situated near to the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Centre, and it was clear we were not the only guests who picked the hotel for this reason. However, there were real troubles getting taxis to come to the hotel during the morning peak hour period. Reception staff had to rely on multiple car booking apps with no guarantees of getting guests a ride - feels like the hotel should invest in a shuttle service or at least have an arrangement with a private car service company for the morning peak hour period.

Its a whole new experience in customer journey, staffs were extremely helpful and very approachable. Only that may be a concern.is accessibility as the cab could not find the place, no access to taxi when you step out of the hotel or least the next 500m in sight.

A new fan of the citizenM brand!

I definitely recommend this hotel! The room wasn't huge, but was so modern and had such a large window (took up one wall) that it felt bigger and was definitely comfortable for our three night stay. The huge, comfy bed was so luxurious, and being able to control the room temp, lights, "mood" and TV from the iPad was beyond convenient when all we wanted to do was lay in bed after a long hot day exploring the city. The location (for not being right in Shanghai) was really good. It's right behindthe new MixC mall (which has a subway station in it) and so there are tons of food options just a few minutes outside the hotel. Kitty corner from MixC is another big mall, so you won't run out of shopping or food options for sure. The common areas in the hotel were comfortably and beautifully decorated, and a bonus was all the real books on the shelves. I definitely borrowed a novel to read at night. The staff all spoke great English, and offer you a coffee first thing when you come down for breakfast (how nice is that?). The hotel is nice and quiet at night, and housekeeping did a great job every day. We ended up paying about $60 a night for the room via hotels.com, and it was the best deal of our trip.

Everything was amazing. Staff were the best! Made you feel like you were a their best friend, not a guest. Fantastic location. Next to a HUGE shopping mall with tons of shops, food, entertainment. Next to the metro entrance. 10/10!

The decor was unique, very vibrant and fresh. There were great spaces for sitting down to chill, or work or network . Although the hotel was busy it didn't seem like it and I enjoyed the ambience. The room was nicely set up, it was not large but very functional. The smart tv and ipad in the room allowed streaming but i did not have the time or opportunity to try it out. Wifi was easy to connect to and signal was strong. The basic amenities were offered in the room. Only thing missing was coffee and tea making setup but the lobby and lounge provided a better setup for that. Staff were friendly and professional, when they made a mistake they tried to rectify it. The ability to pay a small fee to check in early was very useful. My flight arrived early and i was able to check in 6 hours earlier than normal. Breakfast was a small spread with basic necessities. Western and Asian items were offered, nice coffee and fresh yogurt and pastries, congee, eggs and so on. Overall I would certainly come back or consider another Citizen M hotel elsewhere. Only one setback was the location being in a relatively new complex was a bit challenging for drivers to find. Also access to mall next door was complicated however one of the staff walked with me to show the way. Then it was fine as the mall is also connected to the metro line 10.

The hotel wasa bit hard to find. But once there, it was more than I expected. It has a great lounge area where we could relax. The staffs were nice and helpful. It was not far from the Metro. We had a great overall stay.
