The staff were so friendly and kind to our dog as well. We normally stop in the area on the way down to Portugal which we visit frequently. We will definitely be staying again. Good walks from the hotel along the river and very central location so access to facilities, restaurants etc. Free parking too.
This is a lovely hotel with the best breakfast in Portugal! Literally! Their restaurant Ponte Velha is also superb and very reasonably priced, the change the menu regularly monthly if not weekly which is a great. In my top 10 hotels in Portugal!
Discover central Portugal and make this hotel your top priority for a stay. The front desk staff is exceptional. The best breakfast I've experienced in Portugal was here. The adjacent restaurant is top-notch, and there are choices of several restaurants well worth visiting. I could not have had a better experience in any hotel in the entire country.
Rui was an amazing host, very kind and helpful. The communication was clear and timely. The hotel was clean, cozy and beautifully decorated. The location was good for us as it allow us to walk to the Morrish castle, Palacio de Pena and Quinta de Regaleira. We loved having our breakfast in the patio while enjoying the view to the Morrish castle. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from. The room was quiet, we choose a first floor room with a small patio.
The staff is beyond friendly and helpful with your requests. They went above and beyond suggesting tourist routes to travel. I bought local honey and jams that some custom inspector is definitely enjoying
I loved the building combining an ancient convent with the most modern facilities. loved the morning breakfast and the staff very friendly . I also enjoyed being near nature parks and old quaint villages filled with cultural and historical interest
Kind staff. My wife got sick and we asked about pharmacy. They gave us the information and made an arrangement for a takeout of cooked apple and rice porridge at a restaurant next door. That were exactly my wife needed. We very much appreciated their kindness.
We were made very welcome from the moment we arrived at the hotel.
The place had a sense of history (being an old convent) but had been beautifully restored and updated which gave it a contemporary twist.
The staff made every effort to make us feel comfortable, when we explained we were vegan the receptionist phoned through to the restaurant to see if there was something suitable on the menu - the waiters also went out of their way to accommodate us.
Although we are somewhat familiar with the area the receptionist was still able to provide lots of useful information about places of interest to visit despite the recent fires.
Can't fault the hotel, clean, quiet, stylish and comfortable.
Fantastic buffet breakfast, particularly the artisan bread and delicious fresh fruit.
Friendly, cheerful and helpful staff.
I left a jacket in the wardrobe, no problem, it was mailed to me here in London a week later!
Thank-you.
Stayed at this lovely hotel for 4 nights the whole expiriance was first class, the staff can not do enough for you the free breakfast was super & the rooms very large with a modern feel although the main public areas still retain the original charm of the building would deffinatly stay again when in the area
We had high expectations, but this hotel was a huge disappoitment. Suite is overpriced at 150 euro/night and only sleeps 2. It is not a true suite but a small room with a partial divider in the middle. Staff and mangement also handled a situation poorly: blaming the guest for no hot water rather than taking responsibility for the problem.
We stayed for a few days at the Convento da Serta Hotel. This was our first time to Serta and we didn't know what to expect of the region. We were very pleasantly surprised by a beautifully renovated hotel, which offers all the modern amenities and features while preserving the architectural details of the original convent.
We stayed in one of the historical rooms, belonging to the convent. The room was spacious and clean, with its own temperature control and fully renovated bathroom, and featured a cozy little balcony. The staff were wonderful. They recommended some walks and areas to explore. Although we normally like to figure things out on our own, we followed their recommendations and had an incredible day exploring the countryside and nearby town. The whole area is largely undiscovered by tourists, which means that we had it mostly to ourselves.
The breakfast was also fantastic. A huge table filled with local pastries and delicacies, such as fresh cheese and homemade jams.
