This review will unfortunately come across negative but I feel the need to say all the things I wish people had written when I was reading reviews and 1500 characters means I can’t get the positives in here.
Day spa: Wide choice and cheap. No actual day spa room/area though. This is reflected in the price. It’s not a luxury day spa like you’d be expecting, the ‘booths’ are actually in the toilet blocks near the pool. The massages were great and I kept going back though.
Pool area: No umbrellas at the pool. Deal breaker. For a place that accommodates so many Australians this is surprising. Looking back at the website you can’t see umbrellas but it never occurred to me to check. There’s a large undercover area poolside but they are tables and chairs not lounges to lay back and read/nap on, and the booths get filled with couples early so unless you want to encroach you easily miss out. It’s also all smoking so you get cigarette, cigar, and hookah (for hire) smoke.
No loan towels for the nearby beach, water tours etc.
Dining: only 1 restaurant, not a wide range for those who like to dine in.
Breakfast: limited buffet and just warm. No coffee machine, just instant unless you pay extra. Only 3-5 fruit most days (standard available at home, not tropical fruits like you’d expect).
Room: no conditioner or face washers and if you don’t want the rain shower (wet head) the normal shower is like chest height only.
Location: walk everywhere to great restaurants but no markets close by.
