Liked: Cleanliness
We loved staying here for five nights. Despite its proximity to 89A, the street was remarkably quiet. This is one of two rentals in the house (side by side), but still felt very private. The space was clean, the shower was lovely, and there's just enough room upstairs to do some yoga in front of the couch. The deck felt private enough to go out there in my pajamas for some morning birding over coffee. The bed is much softer than what we're used to (we actually thought it was a waterbed at first), but in the end our backs didn't suffer as much as we expected (I put the little ironing board under the mattress on my side for support, which seemed to help a little, and we think our daily walking and yoga also helped to strengthen our tolerance). The rental is a short drive to the Tlaquepaque galleries and boutiques, the Amitabha Stupa, and we took two day trips: one to the Grand Canyon (a must-see I immediately started crying), and one outing to the Petrified Forest. On the way back from the Grand Canyon we stopped at the Sunset Crater Volcano, part of the area's "recent" volcanic activity, just 1,000 or so years old. Sleep in with blackout curtains or keep them open to wake with the sunrise and a peek at the red rocks of Sedona. If you don't need a full kitchen, we would 100% recommend this cozy stay.
