Unfortunately the power went out during storm whilst I was having a shower. No one informed us what was happening or let us know if it would be put back on soon. There were also no sheer curtains and I was on the bottom floor where everyone can see into the room. There were blockout blinds but they were too dark for daytime.

Not a happy person at reception, definitely couldn’t get in till 2, 4 hrs cleaning as your out at 10.00 am and not one empty room, curtains were so long I nearly tripped over them, very noisy could here next door and above clearly, had pets there not sure about that, lots kids, will look for something a bit better next time, it was expensive for the room type we got.

Staff are friendly and helpful, but our room was in serious need of some repairs / make-over / uplift. Beds pretty rough for a hotel at ~$200 a night, and general state of doors and cabinetry, etc., not good. Basically very budget but not really at a low price to match that style. Location is great directly across from the beach, and there's nearly no other competition here, so I guess they can charge what they like.

I made a last minute booking here as I spontaneously decided to have a quick long weekend on the East Coast. It being peak season most other places were fully booked or asking crazy prices for their remaining rooms... I got a 3 night stay for about $470. We last stayed here about 19 years ago and it was a comedy of errors so I was interested to see what the place was like now. I was pleasantly surprised as the room was actually quite pleasant and had been refurbished (although it will need a re-carpet and re-paint soon!). The pool was nice - not really warm but warmer than the ocean. Issues - reception hours are very limited. This is a nuisance as they also don't do daily housekeeping. You have to go and ask reception for new towels etc. Not good enough for a three night stay! I really dislike that and no excuses - hire more staff if you need more housekeepers. And don't tell me it is a regional area - if you pay enough, you will find people. Also the Wi-Fi was terrible - there is a sign saying there are limited spaces but that is not good enough. If you are fully booked you need to have good enough Wi-Fi to cater for all guests. I could only get Wi-Fi on Sunday night. Lucky I could hot spot to my laptop or I would have had no way to use it. So in summary, a good stay but it could be better with a few tweaks.

Not sure how this can be called a “Resort”. Expedia should have a section where you can upload photos. The room we stayed was a dump… a full refund would be appreciated, lucky we only booked 1night. Only if I could upload photos… these would truly reflect the room.

Staff were indifferent and the place was very noisy with overseas guests making lots of noise and became aggressive when asked to be quiet. Parking is chaos and counter staff had very limited knowledge of the restaurant menu. We should have stayed at Saint Helens and would not go back to this property

The beach is right across the road as is the river. Our room had a beautiful view! I would highly recommend the queen rooms but if booking a family room they are downstairs and don’t have such great views and are quite squishy. The bed in the queen room was so comfy. Bistro is great and just downstairs as is the bar. Coffee shop across the road too. Love this place and will be back again and again!
