We arrived 30 minutes after our scheduled check in time to find the house not only filthy from the previous guests... but sewage had backed up in the bathroom. There was feces and toilet paper that had backed up and dried into the bathtub, toilets and surrounding area. There was a note on the counter from the previous guest stating that the sewage had backed up "again" so clearly this is a known and ongoing problem... Dirty laundry and bedding spread throughout the home. The floors had dirt and food crumbs throughout the house. The countertops had food crumbs. The master bathroom counters, sinks and floor had hair (of all types). Dirty toilets and bugs crawling throughout the master bathroom floor. The house was literally a health hazard.With the intention of staying for two weeks we had limited options and ended up having to find a hotel and alternative housing. I have numerous photos and videos which I provided to VRBO and the Host. I spent over 4 hours trying to resolve this with VRBO. The host has yet to respond to emails and texts. VRBO initially responded saying that our photographic evidence did not consitute action. After pleading with VRBO to take action they asked for another walk through video. Upon viewing the video they acknowledged that the house was not acceptable and they would try to get in touch with the host/owner. I will never use VRBO again and this host should be ashamed. Even a simple text message acknowledging the situation would go along ways.
