I have stayed at Golden Host Resort a few times now. Each time is comfortable, welcoming and relaxing. Front desk host; Bea is warm, accommodating and a sweetheart.

The property was very unique. It had the feel of a 1960’s motor court from our family vacations from our childhood. The guitar player and singer on Saturday night was very good. The courtyard and pool area were spacious, clean pool, lots of chairs. Location is convenient to airport, downtown and beaches. Be sure to check prices as the hotel quoted me $50 per night more than Expedia. Shower curtain wasn’t long enough so bathroom flooded with each shower. Room was not the cleanest although beds were. Ice makers were out of order. Air conditioner stopped cooling on second night.

Checked into room and was immediately hit with the strong smell of bleach. Had to leave the door to the room open for 60 to 90 minutes to try and clear the smell. The mattress on the bed was extremely lumpy and not really comfortable. Other than that, the property was fine and it looks like the rooms have been updated.

Very short drive from the airport.The Tiki Bar on premises is great: live music each night of my stay. The pool area is large and has covered high top tables for your lunch/dinner. The rooms are clean spacious. Rita at the front desk is a gem!

I thought everything was very very nice at this hotel and I would recommend it for anybody coming into the Sarasota area who doesn't want to have to pay an arm and a leg for a nice hotel and it's very close to Sarasota Bay and to the beach area

The place was very nice I loved the pool and the Sun tanning area and all the people here were very friendly and professional. If you are coming to the Sarasota area I would DEFINITELY recommend this place cuz for the price it is very good
