This was a delightful hotel in a great neighborhood. However we can’t really recommend it if you are staying over a weekend and want peace and quiet. There was a wedding reception directly under our room and in the adjacent courtyard that was extremely loud with music and a dj until way past midnight. It was impossible for guests to sleep as the rooms all overlook this courtyard. The vibrations were so intense our windows and doors were rattling. While we understand a boutique hotel has to support itself in many ways and weddings may offer a chance for additional revenue, the wedding was so over the top loud it seems impossible to operate a hotel in the same location. We are returning to Santiago in a few months but sadly will not take the same risk and will book elsewhere.

Exceeded expectations. Staff were fantastic, and offered some great advice, for safety, getting about and eating. Great to be able to meet fellow guests over a glass of wine and swap travel stories. Can't wait to go back at the end of our Chile tour in 2 weeks!!

Hotel Boutique Castillo Rojo was a perfect stay for 3 days in Santiago. The staff was so attentive and helpful. They remembered my name right away and always checked in to see if there was anything they could do to make my stay better. I stayed in a newly renovated room, which was fantastic. The breakfast was also great. It is around a fairly bustling area, so there can be some noise at night, if you are a light sleeper.

Beautiful building. All the staff were great. Loved the free wine options in the afternoon. We were a bit worried about security issues walking around in the neighbourhood but it was perfectly fine for us walking to and from Belles Artes museum in the daytime. There were plenty of food and drink options nearby and one street a couple of blocks away with late night bars for the students, kidults and a few gay bars and clubs fairly nearby too. I’d definitely recommend to friends and family.

Great location. Comfortable room and bed. Rooms noted on Expedia at time of our bookingto have balcony, but only a few rooms actually have a balcony in the hotel. Great staff. Very nice breakfast and sitting area for breakfast. Great shower pressure and water is hot. No elevator.
