I have been visiting Solvang and surrounding are for over 15 years. Now I have children and was super happy with the amenities at Sideways, which worked for all. Quiet hours are from 10-10. There is a bar/lounge on site with indoor and outdoor seating, open til 10. They also have a semipermanent trailer that they sell sausage and other smoked meats out of during afternoon hours. The pool was a huge it with my kids, they made friends every morning while swimming. Sideways also has access to the RV park right behind it. This park is nice with its own pool. So there is lots of area to walk around and kids to ride bikes. There is no adult breakfast, but they bring in fresh donuts each morning, which were a hit with my kids and the coffee was great. We used the tesla charger on site, there are 4. The chargers are level 2, so a slower charge. It was $0.45 kWh. Beds were comfortable, shower was clean and had good pressure. There were both a microwave and a good sized fridge in the room as well. We had a fantastic time!

Just okay this time

I have stayed in this hotel and only had good experiences. When I booked through Expedia (the person at the desk said that was who I booked though!) I did get a pretty good rate but the room was not as nice as the others I have stayed in. Upstairs has no balcony and just seems run-down. The downstairs rooms seem much better and I was told they were all full (even though I booked way in advance) so I probably won’t be going back just because it wasn’t as clean and nice as I remembered.

Nice room, good price, close to everything

Nice room at a decent price midweek. Close to restaurants and wineries. they have a lounge onsite that serves sausages and sides and beer/cocktails. Great Old Fashioned.

Super cute, modern, vintage vibe. Peaceful and easygoing atmosphere. Room was clean and comfortable. Bar on site had friendly guests and bar staff when I was there. Easy to find parking which was free. I really enjoyed my workcation time here and even extended my stay another 2 nights! Grocery store, fast food, restaurants and the Hitching Post all down the street. You can't beat the great value for this place.
