I appreciated the real breakfast (coffee, waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal) and basic cleanliness. However, the lack of blackout curtains (we only had shades/blinds) made it hard to sleep with the street light and then sunlight in teh morning coming into the room.

Breakfast was great, pool/hot tub great and yoga dome amazing. Convenient location to Luther Burbank Center, saw Johnny Mathis concert with the family and had a very comfortable stay at The Sandman, will definitely be back again for sure!

You get more for your money.

The hotel has a few nice additional things not typically found at a hotel, such as a domed exercise facility outside besides a fitness room. They also serve a complimentary hot breakfast that was stated in the information on the hotel.

This property has so much potential. The staff at the front desk were less than welcoming or helpful. The pool area was out of towels the entire time we were there. The door to the room had a huge gap that felt a little troublesome for cooking efficiency and safety. The breakfast was tasting but a bit disorganized and crowded. Ice machines were not clearly marked and some were out of order. You get what you pay for with this property but not bad overall for $100/ night.

The room was very large and was in a quiet area. Breakfast was good but the sitting area was very small unless you wanted to sit outside by the pool. It was quite chilly so we squeezed inside and met some very nice people.

Clean and safe while a convenient location

The property has been updated since my last stay a few years ago. The staff were very friendly and helpful; and the room and bathroom very clean. The bed was comfortable and I appreciated the number of pillows. The body wash in the shower smelled wonderful and was not overpowering. The only thing I would add to the room is some sort of blackout roller blind or curtain to go over the slatted blinds. The property has good soft lighting outside at night to make it feel cozy and safe, but the window blinds don't block out the light well enough for a dark room to sleep in. I had the waffle for breakfast, it was a little odd that there was not butter for it, only syrup and jellies. I appreciate the multiple pet potty waste bins too. Pool is excellent!

The Sandman hotel is very convenient and quiet for us. The rooms are simple and maybe a little old, but staff are attentive and professional, and everything in the room is fresh, clean and we like staying here. We did not use the outdoor pool facilities but enjoyed the olive trees and plantings of vegetation around.
