The Morgan Hotel

Overall my stay at the Morgan hotel was very disappointing. We went down to San Simeon to visit the Hearst Castle. I will say on one positive note, that the all the staff we spoke with throughout our stay were very nice. With that being said, pretty much everything else about the stay at the Morgan Hotel was a let down.

TV remote didn't work, I had to call the operator. Toilet wouldn't flush, I had to call the operator again. Outlet plugs were old and phone chargers wouldn't fit in them. Room smelled old, musty, and like smoke.

The location of the place is convenient, and it has a spacious feel. However, there are several issues to note: the rooms do not have air conditioning, the bathroom had ants crawling in it, the pillows were stiff, the blackout curtains do not close completely, and the continental breakfast no longer includes hot items like eggs and sausages.

We always stay at the Morgan when we are in the area. It is our favorite hotel. We love the friendly staff and quiet atmosphere, especially at night in the lobby area. It's a go-to for a one or two night trip for us..

The stay was fine. Very convenient to the Hearst Castle. Only complaint were the mattresses in our room. One was very lump you could feel the springs. The other was ok but getting old. They need to replace the mattresses.

This is a very clean hotel with beautiful plants all around the outside of the building. Rooms have detailed drawings by Julia Morgan of Hearst Castle areas. The breakfast offers lots of choices.
