We chose this hotel because of the reviews. However, we weren't impressed. The only access to the beach is a very long set of steps. Both the pool and hot tub were "out of order" on the 2nd day due to "chemical issues" and the elevator was "out of service" during our entire stay. It seems as though their maintenance program needs an overhaul. They provide coffee and continental breakfast daily. The fresh fruit was appreciated, but everything else was pre-packaged sugar-laden pastries. The rooms really need a good cleaning. The floors were sand covered and not clean. The baseboards were gross, especially across from the bathroom. There's no AC in the bedroom, only the living room. So we ended up switching mattresses between the bed and pull out sofa. Mattresses were comfortable enough, but pillows were very flat. Most of the staff were very pleasant, but one was extremely rude. We would not stay here again.

The front desk was extremely helpful (this was our first time staying here and she went out of her way to show me where our room was and where to park our oversized vehicle). The rooms are very clean. The outside of the hotel is dated as are the tubs, but they are super clean. Microwave and mini frig! Walking distance to downtown and the cinnamon roll place is literally less than 50 yards. Priced just right for the age of the hotel. I left some medication and I received a text letting me know that I had left something in the room. Loved their honesty and the fact that they reached out! Will stay here again.

When we first walked in we were stared down and I was asked “How can I be helped?” I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Then we were told fill out a paper and here’s the keys and I’m like okay where’s the room and they didn’t even bothered to tell us to use the middle elevator. Very rude staff. The room was nice and clean smelled like bleach. The bathroom on the other hand was filthy and the titles were dirty and falling apart. But location was great and the beach was right there.

There was a couple issue I had, the elevator didn’t work so we had to carry everything up to the 3rd floor. The maids missed the empty bottle water and tissue someone left behind in the room. Other than that everything was fine. The room looks exactly pictured on website. Will definitely book again.

room was dated and not clean well . Walls are so thin I could hear all the conversations of both rooms next to us. elevator was broken and they put us on the third floor! terrible! The room next to us left their dog alone and it baked so loudly that it wake us up and we could not go back to sleep. the walls are so thin. we will never stay there again!!! the cable did not work in our room. I told the front desk and they said maintenance had to come up to fix it. who wants people in your room when we just got settled in our room after a long drive to start our weekend getaway. I wanted to call Expedia to complain but who has that Kind of time to wait on hold while trying to enjoy our weekend getaway. we will never stay here again ever. we feel the reviews are wrong, The Edgewater is a terrible place to spend your money.

The hotel itself is in a great location. The building is run down and very old. The only real issues we had were a barking dog in the next room and every time we used the stairwells there were people smoking and drinking there. I’m not sure if they were guests or just people off the street but there were homeless around the hotel parking lot. Overall it’s decent and in a good location despite the other factors that we dealt with.
