This was a fine property for the price. We felt safe and could walk to the beach, restaurant, and grocery store. Stayed one night prior to leaving on a cruise. Could have paid twice the price but did not need all of the extras. This property fit our need.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I repeat, DO NOT STAY HERE !! You’ll be sorry! There was no hot water, guys were hopping over the fence, everything was duct taped together? The washer machine and dryer were rusty, drain pipes not connected so when it rained it was so loud! The cleaning lady and the maintenance guy had a very loud conversation at 8am on Saturday outside my room for an hour in the morning which woke me? The toilet didn’t flush and the bathroom sink clogged every time I used it?I had booked for 5 days , but only stayed 2, and was told that I would receive a refund for the days that were not used, but when it came down to it, they refused a refund? There’s way too many hotels and places to stay instead of throwing way your money and ruining your vacation!! You’ll be sorry if you stay here!!!

Tough to sleep

Our stay was disappointing for several reasons: 1. Parking on the street was not good. There aren’t enough spots in front of Placid Suites for all the rooms, so we had to park several blocks away. Trying to navigate narrow sidewalks along a busy street in the dark felt unsafe 2. Placid Suites is in a loud part of town, and the partying went on all night long. We couldn’t tell if the loud laughter was from other hotel guests, or just people on the street below. Also we heard loud engines and blaring music into the wee hours of the morning. The walls/windows/door did nothing to keep out the sounds. Also, a street lamp shone through thru the thin curtain over the door. A room darkening shade would have been nice.

I would not recommend it to anyone traveling without a male partner or to anyone who doesn’t want everything they’re doing heard by other guests. We felt unsafe (our door didn’t shut all the way, nor did our windows), and we could hear everything at all times in all the other rooms. I had a drunk man trying to get into our room at 3 am and, multiple times, found the gates to the property wide open. The hotel common areas were not clean, and I was mortified to know that the bathroom, 3 feet away from the bed, had no ventilation. Asked to check in early the day before and was told yes, then told day of check in that we would not be able to and not send check in details until after the check in time. Surprised to know that it is rated as highly as it is, if we could have gotten a refund we would have left before the first night was over.

Clean place but bad internet connection, couldn't watch tv, no tv in the room anyways. We requested room to be cleaned twice, no one came to clean, only clean towels in a bag the second time we asked. We got a ticket for parking outside on our 3rd day, no place to park we thought we were fine until we got the ticket. Not very good instructions and no one available to help.

The access to the property was extremely convenient. Communicating with the concierge was easy. Any requests that was asked was handeled immediately. Acces to the beach was within walking distance, same with restaurants and small shops. Only 10 minutes from the airport and old san juan. Would highly recommend staying at this property. The apartment i booked was clean and had all amenities promised. The only downfall is parking.
