Room was clean but there was a very musty odor that hits you upon walking through the door. Was going to ask for another room when my daughter read reviews that said this was common. Staff was very friendly and quick to assist. Room was clean. Room 308 was on the noisy side where you heard yelling, ambulance/fire truck sirens, construction, garbage truck pick ups, and once again many arguments and yelling outside all night. Hotel was very nice. Coffee was supposed to be served until 9:50am. We were down at 9:45 and you could tell everything had been cleaned up. All that was left were empty coffee urns placed to the side. There is a great coffee shop called Mellis Cafe on Ellis Street which has great coffee and the best cakes/patries/desserts, fruit cups etc. Visited this place daily. There was a refrigerator but no microwave. There is a mirror inside the closet door that we found on the third evening. There are many walkable restaurants but be careful. Leaving the front door and heading to the right…all good. Heading to the left past Mellis Cafe…be cautious.

The hotel's location is excellent, providing easy access to all major landmarks, public transit, and cities south of the main city along the BART line. However, the hotel feels a bit dated. While the staff did a good job with cleaning and service, there was a noticeable and unpleasant odor in the room and bathroom.

Enjoyable stay

The location is perfect for exploring the city. It is also easy access to the cable car and the city bus so we didn't need a car while there. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I loved the welcome gift! The bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed coffee in the lobby every morning.

The hotel is in a great location, short walk to Union Square. Nicely styled rooms, clean and remodeled bathrooms. The hotel staff was very pleasant and accommodating. They stored our luggage before and after the check out. The hotel doesn’t offer free parking but there is a garage near by that charges $43 vs the hotel price of over $70.

Great place. Close to buses, trains, and cable car. Some good food nearby. Close to the tenderloin but never felt unsafe in the area. Would not recommend going too far west from the hotel at night as it’s only a few blocks from the tenderloin. On the west side. Heading east is perfectly safe. Location was convenient would definitely stay here again

The Hotel Arbi was clean and safe inside Outside area is close to trolley ,cable cars ,buses,train to airport, fishermans wharf ,haight ,etc all 3 minute walk This downtown core has many homeless people but they tend to keep to themselves if you have not seen homeless people before and the amount of them then be aware .This is not the hotels issue the area is the downtown core many stores

Location is great- near shopping and cable car pickup and drop off. Secured building so felt secure. Room was quiet at night. A few negatives are the beds were not fantastic, small bathroom (to be expected in city), and when AC was on it pulled in the smell of marijuana. The staff were very nice and professional and gave us a welcome gift (white wine and a few snacks and waters) which was unexpected. The valet service made it easy to park our car and their lot was safer than the self-park option so paid $30/night more. They were also able to store our luggage until it was time to leave for airport. Would recommend this property and stay here again.
