I really enjoyed my stay at Kasa Little Italy San Diego. The location was excellent — right in the heart of Little Italy, surrounded by amazing restaurants, cafes, and just a short walk from the waterfront. The building feels modern, safe, and well-maintained, with great amenities like a rooftop lounge, fitness center, and smooth self check-in. The amenities overall were excellent and added a lot of value to the stay. Everyone who works there, including the concierge, was incredibly kind and helpful. The apartment was clean, stylish, and comfortable overall. The main bed was very cozy and provided great rest. However, the sofa bed was unfortunately unusable — it felt like a flat tortilla with springs, extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. I ended up buying an air mattress for the second bed, which I left for future guests. Given that this is a high-investment building, I think improving that aspect would make a big difference. Another small downside was the shower — it only had a plastic curtain that doesn’t cover well, so you have to be careful not to let water spill out. A proper glass door would be a great improvement. Aside from those details, everything else was perfect. Quiet, secure, and very pleasant stay overall.

Beautiful apartment equipped with dishes, pans, cups etc. the basics needed. Also provided oil and salt & pepper for cooking. There are a few laundry detergent pods to use also. The unit was very clean. We enjoyed our stay!

The consumer interface and communication was horrible. When booking the hotel it states self-parking is available. Only after you book the room do you get an email that links to forms you must fill it to check in, and that is where it is disclosed the self parking is $50 per day. In addition we didn’t receive the forms to check in until we were actually on the plane flying to San Diego. By pure luck i happened to check my email to find out that i had to fill out an extensive set of questions, including uploading my photo and driver license, all of which had to be done at least 30 minutes prior to arrival or we could not have checked in. My family flew 2500 miles to San Diego and it was only luck that i could get into the unit late at night because i happened to check my email to find out that we had to file out a whole questionnaire before we could check in. Why this wasn’t disclosed as soon as the room was booked instead of a few hours before we arrived is very poor communication. It is also not disclosed that the self parking is off site. So we had to walk in downtown San Diego, with my family and luggage, late at night around a lot of homeless to get from the parking to the hotel. it felt very uncomfortable with my family. Lastly we needed to extend our stay by one day. At most hotels this would be a simple phone call to a front desk. At this hotel it was no less than 5 phone calls over 2 days requiring over 3 hours of phone time to simply extend one more day.

Apartments are fairly new so everything worked & was top quality. The area is very close to Little Italy for dining & close to bus & tram routes to access the rest of San Diego easily. It's a DIY check-in hotel but both the AI response & human responses were very prompt & helpful. Even the problem we had with payment for parking was sorted out without fuss. Would definitely recommend & would stay again.

This place is an okay choice for now (I’m sure prices will go up once it is more established bc they always do) if your top priority is having a lot of space and being walkable to Little Italy. That’s what we were looking for. However, we ended up really frustrated with just a huge list of little ways that this place doesn’t really deliver. Like they make it sound so convenient to just text them with needs, but we only ever got AI responses and they were very delayed and sometimes not even correct, like we asked for dishwasher soap and the day afterwards (after buying some ourselves) when they finally showed up they brought hand soap. Nobody was ever at the front desk. I didn’t realize how much I value the staff that hotels have until we stayed at this place. The design also looks nice but isn’t functional - a noticeable lack of doors everywhere even on our bathroom, our smoke alarm was falling out of the wall, no place to set our shampoo etc bc the shower rack broke off the wall, no real clothes storage in the primary bedroom, toilet seats kept sliding off, the mattresses are queen size but set on top of twin size platforms so the mattresses sag a lot on the edges (sleeping was never comfortable.) The lights were on timers so I kept being left in the dark in the shower, and the bathroom fan doesn’t have an off switch so you have to listen to it 24/7 which is maddening. There are not enough outlets or chairs and DO NOT get tricked into paying for parking. Unnecessary.
