This has been our go-to hotel for the last 4 years. The breakfast used to be good but was really mediocre. And the guy running it was super rude.The parking is now ridiculous. $50 per night because my minivan is considered " " oversized

Location was great. Room was great. No sure why when you book two rooms they made them as far apart as they could. At least the rooms were on same floor. Breakfast wasn't anything to write about. I was expecting more. Parking was a little on the pricey side at $50 a night which is more than i use to give for a room. Wasn't informed of this beforehand.

The room was great only bad things were the plug-in and the bathroom didn't work so you can dry your hair in there and one of the plugins in the kitchen didn't work. The room was clean the hotel was quiet parking was $40 a night so that was kind of a surprise. They had no parking lot available if you didn't do the valet so you almost have to. The free breakfasts were amazing and every staff person that we dealt with with very friendly and accommodating.

The room was super clean, the breakfast was good and the location is great. The only reason for a 4 star is because parking/valet was absolutely horrible and a mess. We would wait 30 plus minutes for our car because they kept skipping around to anyone who would complain. Parking to get to valet was always a mess.

Staff was very friendly. Room was just ok. Refrigerator made a lot of noise and the phone did not work. There was nothing to eat when I went down at 8:30 a.m. Front desk personnel had a mouth full food and couldn't talk, when I checked out. I guess she had the breakfast I paid for and didn't get. The parking is extremely expensive.

Well renovated rooms and wonderful valet parking staff. The front desk and housekeeping staff were too good. Kitchen in room is qell equipped except dish wash scrubber and extra dish wash soap. Breakfast was horrible qith way too limited choice of breads, amount of staff compared to occupancy of hotel. Food variety and availability were both problematic.

We had a pleasant stay at Sonesta ES Suites San Antonio Downtown Alamo Plaza. The location was perfect—within easy walking distance to the Alamo and the River Walk, and surprisingly quiet at night, which made it easy to relax and sleep. The suite was spacious and functional, especially for a family stay. The beds were comfortable, and the A/C worked great after long days of sightseeing. Having a small kitchen area was a nice bonus. Breakfast was disappointing. A lot of the food was gone and not refilled, including the milk, which ran out and was never replaced. It felt unorganized and below expectations compared to the rest of the stay. The only other issue we ran into was valet parking one night. Checking the car in took about an hour due to a long line, but it was right at check-in time, so it was understandable and not a major issue overall. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and responsive when we needed assistance. Overall, this hotel is a solid value for the location alone, especially if you plan on walking to most downtown attractions.

WARNING: This hotel doesn’t have ANY free parking. Valet is $40 and is the only option. The website says “valet parking available”. It’s your only option. Parking AT THE HOTEL shouldn’t add 30% to the cost of any hotel stay. That amounts to bait and switch. Nearby public parking is $30 for more than eight hours. This means you will have to pay a mandatory, exorbitant additional parking fee regardless of where you park. The hotel should make this clear before you arrive.
