This hotel is conveniently located near the Alamo, downtown restaurants and attractions plus the River Walk. It was only a 15 minute walk over the the Cathedral as well. Rooms were good size and comfortable. Decor is slightly dated but we weren't bothered by that. Hotel has a tavern which has live music and good food. Our room was right above that and had windows that were overlooking the lobby. That did add some noise to the room from either the music or guests checking in. We travel with a tiny white noise machine which was effective at blocking at that sound. (I actually liked the music in the background because it reminded me of going to music festivals back in the day!) Would definitely stay here again.

Oooof! Not much good to say here. Right from the get go things were a mess. Valet didnt text me and then “misplaced my keys and my car card number”. We had to wait for the room to get a quality inspection before going up, but once we were released to go up, the came in and did an “inspection” while we were in there. Very dirty everything. The carpets. The bathroom. The handles. The entire hotel smelled like a highly chlorinated pool, yet wasnt clean. The mattresses were hard as a rock and sloped towards the center of the room. The sheets were like sandpaper. The only thing nice was the lobby. I was just shocked at the condition of the place. The staff were fine. I actually felt bad for them because they were apologizing for everything. Absolutely do not recommend.

I like the hotel being within walking distance from all the major attractions! The Alamo was right across the street. We had a view from our window of the Alamo. The staff was very nice and friendly! The coffee shop and Tavern inside the hotel was really nice and loved the decor. The ghost tour starts inside the hotel and it was a lot of fun. Our ghost tour guide was Robert. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay at The Crockett hotel again!

Rooms are old and outdated. Could not get consistent temperature control with shower, would be very hot then ice cold, outlets weren’t working, furniture was old and carpet didn’t look clean. Great location and staff was very friendly and helpful! But for price not up to standards.

Crockett Hotel

Unfortunately, we were on the 2nd floor right above the tavern so we could hear the music until they closed, and the Alamo area right outside is being redone so we could hear them when they started work around 6:30 am. However, we want the work done and the room rate was significantly lower. The staff was very good at front desk and Miles at Valet was very good as well. Overall a very good value for two nights since it is right by the Alamo and close to the river walk. Also, Schilo’s delicatessen was recommended which was super!
