I stay at the Independence once a year while taking my daughter to college. It is a lovely hotel with spacious, clean rooms in a quiet and beautiful setting. It is walkable to shops and restaurants and the small town of Independence and adjacent Monmouth are charming. If I have any complaints, it is with the continental breakfast which is subpar. It is quite limited and has almost no gluten free options. The quality also seems lacking. I have dined at the restaurant for dinner twice and was not too impressed with the food or service. It makes for a wonderful spot to get a drink before going elsewhere for dinner. All in all, the hotel itself is one of the nicer places to stay in the area and is safe, convenient, and clean. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet.

I absolutely loved the views and the breakfast was top notch. Dinner was so good. We ended up not using the hot tub because you have to make a reservation for it but we loved every bit of the place. Wonderful staff great beds.

Great place to float down the river and get out to an excellent top notch meal and world class service. This high end hotel is a gem in a picturesque small town. The recent management change a year ago brought a professionalism in hospitality clearly evident in the staff's happiness and interactions with guests. They are almost always booked, so plan ahead for this gem!

I feel honored to have stayed in your Beautiful Hotel. It was close to family while visiting. The rooms were decorated so uniquely. Cool vibe ! The roof top was awesome! We even had a bottle of wine that we received unexpectedly! The staff was excellent! The breakfast was just right! Next visit, I am digging out that swim suit! Gonna check out the hot tub! Always love this area downtown love to walk around.The balcony off of room 419 the thresshold on the door going to tne balcony is not supported it sinks down about 1 inch. Also there are several pavers that are not supported and and they sink down around a inch.
