Tranquil Riverside Suite

A large suite in an historic town-house within the bastide town of Sainte-Foy-La-Grande, with unobstructed views of the Dordogne and vineyards. The accommodation comprises dressing room, bedroom and bathroom (large walk-in shower, and free-standing bath). Guests have use of a secluded, roof-top terrace with unrivalled views over the Dordogne and the surrounding countryside.

Sainte-Foy-La-Grande lies on the border between the departements of the Gironde and the Dordogne, in what is now called Nouvelle Aquitaine (formerly plain-old Aquitaine!). It is perfectly situated for exploring the vast wine region, and the rich history of SW France.
Saint Emilion is a 35 minute drive to the west, with Bordeaux a further half hour away. To the east lies Bergerac, while Duras, Eymet, and Issigeac are to the south. North of Sainte-Foy you will find lots of forest, and the lovely town of Brantome.

If a quiet break is more your style, we have found that guests with great ambitions for exploring are frequently seduced by the tranquil river views and are happy to spend their days relaxing with wine, books, binoculars, water colours (or doing nothing but watching the river drift slowly by).
