Wonderful Villa which we enjoyed very much. Fred was a most welcoming host! As English speaking guests we had some challenge in communication but Fred did everything he could to ensure we had what we needed. The location of the house is quite a distance from where advertised. This did not trouble us. The location would require a car in our opinion. It is not a walkable distance from villages or town. The pool was fabulous and very clean. The view is outstanding! We would recommend it to others looking for a beautiful, rustic get away with a classic, simple Martinique Villa overlooking ocean.

A disappointing property & uncomfortable guest experience

Property location inaccurate on VRBO site - actually 10 km from Sainte Anne, 13 km from Anse des Salines, and facing the Sargassum seaweed-soiled eastern coast. Extremely slow internet. Very old pool with shaky railings & splinter-risk decking. No privacy fencing or vegetative barrier for outdoor living area which is 10 feet from a busy service road in a noisy neighbourhood. Tired furnishings. Shabby linens/towels. Neglected gardens. Owner who requires communication only in French language (though he does understand some English) and who, after presenting you a nice "Welcome Basket", demands 50 Euros cash in advance for cleaning services not yet rendered. Poor value & overall experience.

Bittersweet experience

We had a bittersweet experience with this accommodation. Cons: the owner contacted us one week before to tell us we would have to bring 50 € cash to pay for the cleaning and another 300 as deposit. We were upset about that because normally everything is included in the bill we pay online. We contacted the customer service which said he wasn’t supposed to ask for cash and they sent him a form to add the extra money via the website so that we could pay with the credit card but he never filled it and maintained his idea of us bringing cash. He contacted me everyday and was getting pissed off because I wasn’t answering quickly enough during ma vacation time. The owner couldn’t understand that we travel without phone data, using only wifi so that we weren’t reachable at all time. He was really hard to deal with , answering rudely and putting pressure on us to arrive at a precise time because he wanted to give us the key in person but also saying that he has better things to do. The whole week before arriving the accommodation was stressful and unpleasant because of his demands. The other disappointment we had was to realize the accommodation is not at all where is was advertised. On the ad, the pin is right in the centre of Ste-Anne so we thought we could walk everywhere. However, the accommodation is high in the mountain a good 10-15 minutes by car from the town so nothing was walking distance. The owner said it’s not him who pin the address… Wifi was also very slow. Pros: however, the place was as beautiful as on the pictures. The area is quiet and safe. We had everything to cook even spices and oil. The view and the deck were amazing. The check out procedure was simple and the owner was much nicer in person than by writing. He welcomed us warmly.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour. La vue de cette maison est juste magique. Une jolie petite maison créole. Emplacement idéal. Et quand à son propriétaire, Fred est quelqu'un d adorable. Chaleureux et fait tout pour que l'on se sente bien. Il nous avait apporté quelques fruits, de l'eau et même du rhum pour notre arrivée.Un petit sapin avait été également préparé pour nos enfants. C'est sûr que si un jour, nous le pouvons, nous reviendrons.

Very nice accommodation with great view

We had a very pleasant stay at Fred’s place. The view is fantastic and Fred was super helpful and even bought some groceries for us, since we arrived on a Sunday.While the stay was great, it has to be said that the house is a bit outdated. You will not find the European standard that you might be used to, but that was as expected.

Voyage inoubliable en Martinique

Fred est un hôte parfait, il nous a accueilli avec de beaux fruits et nous a guidé pour les plages, les restaurants et lieux emblématiques. La maison est bien aménagée, dans un lotissement privé.
