Pre-paid room sold out from under me. Pre-paid night through Hotels.com which indicated check in anytime and arrived after midnight to find the Hyatt had sold the room to someone else, and then KEPT my money as well. I had to find a room at higher price nearby so ended up paying more than double. Unreasonable manager denied refund.

When I went to check in, the hotel told me that I had to contact Expedia because my reservation was unpaid. They said they were having issues with 3rd party bookings. I’ve never had an issue at any other hotel. They told me I would not have further issues if I just booked with their reservation system. I felt like I had done something wrong and was inconveniencing them. It got resolved after quite a while, but I’d rather not go through that again.

Beyond Frustrated

I’d love to tell you about my stay but I didn’t even get to sleep in the room I paid for! I flew in late with 3 young kids. When we arrived they told me I couldn’t check in and our room had been sold because we arrived passed checkin time. So I paid for a room through this app but then had the hotel sell my room out from under me because I arrived at 2am. What a scam. So I had to pack all my kids and luggage back into the car and find and pay for another hotel down the road. The young girl working the desk just kept saying she was sorry and that I arrived too late??? Have you ever had that happen to you!!! I paid for a room that I couldn’t stay in!!!

Shuttle driver was great. Friendly, engaging, professional. Continental breakfast staff were great but internet says breakfast starts at 6, it’s 6:30a. Only meat option was turkey bacon that looked microwaved but otherwise a decent selection. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom felt upscale. Bed/linens clean and comfortable. My biggest gripe is the almost 1.5hrs it took to get from the airport to our room using the shuttle. Considering the close proximity (less than 10mins) to the airport and the fact that we landed at almost midnight so there was minimal traffic was aggravating to say the least. The man that answered the phone the 1st time said 20 minute ETA, suspiciously long wait but okay. 30 mins later no shuttle so I called for a status update. Girl that answered said she could have the shuttle to us in 30mins. What the heck?! It took 7mins from pickup to drop off once the shuttle showed up no idea why it would take 30mins. Got to the hotel and it took another 20mins to get checked in because the front desk girl was missing in action then had to check-in the line of ppl that formed while she was gone. At this point it was after 1:30a. We specifically chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport due to an early flight the next day. Disappointed is an understatement. Ruining Hyatt’s reputation with their subpar performance.
