The location was okay, but unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of our stay. Our first and one of the only interactions with the host company involved being asked to pay over 100 in additional taxes directly to them, despite the listing clearly stating that all taxes were included when we booked the unit. They also changed the checkout time from 11 am, which was stated on the site, to 10 am.This is not a true top-floor unit; instead, there is a side roof deck that was poorly maintained and missing cushions on the couch in the pictures. The neighbors above appeared to be students or young adults and were extremely loud every night, often making excessive noise until 4 or 5 a.m., which really made the stay unenjoyable. Not even one night of half-decent sleep and they were very loud all day, every day. A few amenities were also not fully working. The shower in the master bathroom did not work correctly, forcing us to use the hallway bathroom instead. Additionally, the TV in the veranda did not broadcast any tv channels.Overall, this was not the experience we were expecting or looking forward to. The property is managed by a company rather than a host or super host, and didn't have the same level of attentiveness as other stays with a dedicated host. We were handed the keys on arrival by a young person on a bike, who left immediately, reinforcing the lack of on-site support.

Great location near the Vatican

We (2 couples) had a great stay at this apartment - it is right around the corner from the Vatican and easy walking to many places in Rome - many great restaurants down small streets near this and there is a small grocer across the street. The lift is a little small but that is expected in Rome and the rooftop terrace is a great quite area to wind down after a long day seeing the sights - overall we had a wonderful stay

Well designed Vatican neigborhood apartment with terrace

Great design and well equipped. Safe and convenient neighborhood better than Rome city center. Listing and property management mis-stated that Ottaviani Metro is a viable travel option to apartment - it has been closed for renovation and will remain so probably for a year! We had to get off at Cipro and walked ... almost got mugged at Roma Termini Metro. That's some really bad advice for our arrival from iFlat, the agency. We asked specifically how to get there. Despite having informed them of our train schedule and made an appt for 1530 check-in. They didn't send someone till 1615. We were delayed due to their poor guidance but got there by 1600! Sweating and standing at the gate for 15 minutes. Also, unit instructions listed two sets of keys and we were only given one set. Had to coordinate everyone to leave at the same time. 3 A/C units on a single circuit so naturally tripping all the time, down to 2 units in use only. Irregular step in middle of bathroom a tripping hazard! Short on management agency. We found our own taxi to leave for Fiumenico Arpt and luggage storage on the block after checking out to see more sights for a few hours, no help from agency. Good discount grocer - Podis - two blocks northwest. Plenty of restaurants around but didn't try.

Five days in Rome

This is a very convenient property to the Vatican, tour groups line up outside the front door. I'm not sure why it's listed as a river location, the Tiber is 3/4 mile away. It's a nice two bedroom, two bathroom apartment perfect for two to four adults. Any more people would be a squeeze. It's quiet and feels very secure with three seperate doors with three different keys you need to go through to get in. There's a smaller clunky elevator for getting luggage up to the fifth floor. The kitchen is well appointed but quirky, the hood fan doesn't work and I'm not sure where the ice maker was. The gas stovetop has to be lit manually, there were two empty lighters provided which was not thrilled about. The beds are large and comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious and showers the same. I had to pin the drapes shut in the bedrooms, they didn't close all the way. The air conditioning works well once you get it figured out. The WiFi stayed strong the entire time. There's a great view out and down the street onto bustling Via Vespasiano from one of the bedrooms. There's a great outside deck with a large comfortable couch covered by a market umbrella. The deck looks out into the interior courtyard. we never used the dining table in the room the deck to the apartment. The apartment is clean overall. The walls could use painting and there's a residual odor in the second bathroom. I would stay again.

Great location, but not clean

Property is only a 5 min walk to the Vatican and close to good shopping (Coin and other stores on Via Cola di Rienzo). Terrace was nice and AC worked well. However, the furtiture was dirty and stained, and while the bedding was clean, the bed pillows were old and flat and yellow. This place could be so great if it were freshened up.

Apartment needs attention to details overlooked. Especially cleaning of furniture.

This unit is spacious with great balcony but needs a thorough cleaning. Get rid of white furniture coverings. Super location which is very important to us.

Wonderful respite from the city

We visited our daughter who is studying abroad in Rome and wanted a space with great access to all of Rome's sites and a quiet place to connect that was away from the busy-ness of the city. We found exactly what we wanted here. The space was lovely and very comfortable, the terrace was amazing, the location was perfect - a few minutes from food, bodegas, and the Vatican. Check in was so easy, check-out easier. Glorious.

All good - clean, cool (it was v hot in Rome) and comfortable. Awesome location. Only minor blemish was not being able to find the cushions for patio seating (but it was too hot to sit outside anyway). Well run and would definitely stay there next time.

Loved the apartment

This was a very comfortable and convenient apartment. It was on the (fifth?) floor of a secure apartment building. There is an elevator which was great for moving luggage and for anyone with a problem with stairs. There was air conditioning, though it needed to be used with care alongside other appliances due to the load on the electricity. The easy solution, turn off the air and run the clothes washer and the dishwasher when you are out and about. There were also heavy curtains to keep out the light and keep things cool. The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet, the baths large and modern. We had five persons and one used the sofa bed in the living room, also comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped, though we used it primarily for breakfast as the restaurants in Rome are great, including several nearby. There is a separate dining room and a large terrace. We spent a lot of time on the terrace in the evenings. The location was great. It is very near a metro stop and we used the metro to travel in from the airport, and to get out to sites in the City. St. Peter's and the Vatican Museum are only a couple minutes walk. The Castel St. Angelo, Tiber River bridges, and the old neighborhoods around the Piazza Navonne are also an easy walk. There were lots of nearby restaurants, markets, and a pharmacy. Check-in was a bit slow. We had to wait about fifteen minutes at the door. The host tries very hard to coordinate your time of arrival, as they must meet you and escort you up for check -in. At check-in we were given instructions on the elevator, the air, the kitchen, and care for the terrace, and offered transport to the airport for our departure, which we did coordinate. We communicated with the host through the VRBO site prior to the trip, and through WhatsApp after our arrival. They were always responsive, though sometimes a bit slow. They manage a lot of apartments, so it helps to advise in the WhatsApp communications your name and location. I would very much recommend this unit to anyone visiting Rome, and especially to anyone whose visit includes the Vatican.

Great apartment and Vatican area location

The terrace is the real selling point of this property! No instructions for WiFi which made it inaccessible for first 24 hours, only one set of keys and one roll of TP were inconveniences to this otherwise delightful apartment.

Vatikannähe, ruhig, Sonnenterrasse, gute Bäder

zwei schöne Schlafzimmer zur Straße hin, 4. Stock, eines hat eigenes Bad, das andere teilt sich das Bettbezieher 4 und 5. Waschmaschine. Bett für Person 4 und 5 ist ein Schlafsofa im Eingangswohnraum, der die Küche enthält.Von diesem Raum geht der Essraum ab, der zur Terrasse führt.Die Bäder sind gut ausgestattet und die Duschen sauber und mit gutem Wasserdruck.Die Wohnung liegt optimal, wenige Gehminuten von der Vatikanmauer entfernt, vom Treppenhausfenster sieht man die Peterskuppel. Wenige Minuten bis zum Eingang der Vat. Museen.Wir waren an Ostern da als Papst Franziskus den letzten Segen erteilt hat und am Ostermontag gestorben ist. Die kurzen Wege zum Vatikan waren sehr vorteilhaft. Auch zur U-Bahn läuft man nur wenige Minuten.Zwei kleine Supermärkte genau vor der Tür, ein größerer in wenigen Gehminuten Entfernung.2 Parkhäuser in 30 m Entfernung. (Wahrscheinlich mit Voranmeldung).Schlüsselübergabe problemlos durch persönlichen, sehr freundlichen Kontakt. Haus sehr gepflegt mit Personenaufzug.Nachteil: Die zweite Ebene in zwei Zimmern sieht charmant aus, ist aber höchstens für Kinder begehbar wegen niedriger Stehhöhe. In der Küche hat sie zur Folge, dass die Decke sehr niedrig über der Kochstelle ist. Dunstabzugshaube sollte repariert werden.Die Schiebetür zur Terrasse hin lässt sich nicht schließen, allerdings ist die Tür vom Essraum zur Küche und damit zum Rest der Wohnung absperrbar.
