Moldy bathroom, uncomfortable bed, bad service

Warning to American travelers, do not stay in this hotel. That is, unless you like hard thin beds and mold in your bathroom. I slept better in the coach seat on a 10 hour flight to Rome than I did on this bed. I booked 2 nights at the Major for my stay in Rome. I could not sleep the first night because of the discomfort of the bed. I went to the front desk at 5 am to ask if I could speak to a manager. Of course, the manager never arrives at the hotel that day and best I could do is phone him to discuss the issues. I asked to leave the hotel early and be refunded the second night. The manager refused. I also cited issues re visible mold in the bathroom. The hotel refused to let me out of the reservation. Inflexible customer service, terrible finishes, uncomfortable, and dirty. Don’t waste your money here. When I packed up to leave, I found stains on the sheets that weren’t mine. I ended up leaving and moving to a different hotel for the second night at my own cost. Really unhappy overall

"our AC DO NOT WORK for the whole night"....when I found wasn't working around 10:30 pm after walk around the Coliseum area on a nice and HOT summer afternoon you just think in take a shower and go to your cool bed...right after I spoke with the desk people they just told me the was no more rooms available and there is no chance to find someone who fix our AC,also they told me I'll have to contact the manager next day for a refund something never happened bc I did an EXPEDIA reservation, when I contacted EXPEDIA they blame the Hotel saying the hotel will offer me a DISCOUNT my next visit... so was kind a HOT POTATO GAME...I'll NEVER RESERVE with Expedia or this Hotel...

Not for the business traveler

The hotel is in a lovely location and the service was great. Friendly, helpful people. The room was great - small but perfect. The only issue was that there is a rooftop bar/restaurant and during my stay there were two events back to back nights and as a business traveler this does not work. I was on the 4th floor and the event space is on the 5th. I asked to be moved the first night because it felt like a discotheque above me but there were no other rooms. The next night was exponentially worse and the private event with terrible techno music lasted well past 1 am with flashing lights. This is not really a good hotel for a business traveler. But for vacation - it seems like a good choice.

At first glance this hotel was a dream, however, when we got to the location the price was not justified. It took us over an hour to find parking without any help from the hotel. The front desk didn’t give us any information for our stay (we heard them tell a couple about discounts for restaurants the morning we checked out). The only thing that was told to us was that the rooftop, which was the only reason we had booked this hotel was off limits due to a private event. We did communicate this with the hotel and nothing was done in terms of compensation. Being someone that likes to end my day relaxing outdoors I ended up in bed at 9pm not being able to also sleep as the noise coming from the private party was absurd. The room also had a very musty smell which made it hard to enjoy being there. Overall I’m extremely disappointed in the customer service at this hotel. If you’re considering booking it maybe ask if they have a private event before hand.

Very nice hotel! Great rooftop patio also! This property was about a 25 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, and 15 minutes from the Colosseum. Would definitely go back!

The hotel was near so many of the things we wanted to see in Rome. It was a smaller hotel, fairly clean, service was good. It worked for what we needed, but I'm not sure if I would stay again.
