Nice little hotel

While the building does have an elevator, it is not available for this particular property, which was disappointing because that was one of the reasons why we selected this particular hotel...to avoid having to carry luggage up stairs...luckily it was only one floor that we had to carry our bags up. Also, the furniture (night stands) are pretty much patio furniture. There's nothing in particular wrong with that, but it seemed odd to us. The shower was incredibly small, if you're a bigger guy, you may have some trouble squeezing into it. The staff, however, was very friendly and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The hallway lights are on a motion detector, so they remain dark at night unless someone is in the hallway, which we thought was quite clever. The building itself is beautiful, with a lovely courtyard. Had it not been raining, while we were there, we probably would have spent some time perhaps with a takeaway lunch or breakfast. The train station is fairly close by, so if you're planning to arrive or leave by train, that might be a consideration as well. The hotel is also on the edge of a park, and we noticed they were showing films in the park at night, but we were too worn out to wander over and check them out.

The area is perfect to walk around as there are lots of dining options available for a short distance as well as convenience stores. Metro very close by which made exploring the city easy and getting around at a low price not complicated. The place was very secure to get inside which was comforting. The cleanliness/bathroom could have been a little better but it was overall okay. Staff however was excellent and very helpful in showing around as well as so so friendly and prompt at responding messages

This is a great option for anyone looking for an efficient location near the Termini train station. Staff was really friendly and accommodating, holding our luggage before check-in and after checking out so we could continue exploring the city. Communication was always on point and room was all we needed to crash for the night. Although the area surrounding the Guest House is not the prettiest, Rome is a very safe city and we never felt unsafe walking near the property late a night. There are two fantastic pastry shops within walking distance from the Guest House, which were absolutely amazing! I recommend and would stay at this property again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Magic Door Rome! The area was a bit intimidating when we first arrived. The rental company is within a building of more apartments/homes. The outside is heavily graffitied and there were some questionable people in the area when we arrived around 12 pm—but this is not something the rental company can control/change. The main door is a bit difficult to find without having looked up pictures, but we communicated our arrival time and someone was outside to help us in. There are few steps of stairs that are unavoidable and the elevator/entrance are a bit run down, but the room itself was very clean, modern, and beautiful. The staff kindly kept our bags since we arrived early and were very helpful overall. The area became lively in the evening and there was a fantastic pizza place on the corner adjacent to the entrance. It surprisingly felt safer to walk in the evening/night and ended up being a great stay. We would book it again!

Lily who checked us in was great. Friendly and helpful with directions. Property is close to a Metro stop and 15 walk from Termini. Room was big and clean. Building does have an elevator but elevator isn’t available for Magic Door guests. There were a few homeless ppl on the same street but Otherwise was a convenient location.

This property is in a great location away from the business of all the tourist attractions but yet close enough to travel to. Lily and her family were great hosts. Lily was so friendly and helpful. Great room in Rome

We loved our stay! The room was really cosy, bed was very comfy. The view from our window was so nice to wake up to every morning watching the park and the street. The building felt very safe. Very happy with the bed and pillows which were really comfortable and we had a great nights sleep and weren’t bothered by other customers as other reviews had said the walls were thin. The windows were great for blocking out the noise from the road too. The aircon in the room was fantastic and a welcome relief when we got back every day. It’s in a perfect central location to walk to the colosseum or Trevi fountain and your 1 minute away from the metro! Carlos was super helpful when we got there too giving us all the information we needed. Would definitely stay again!

Magic door

The unit was close to transport and within walking distance to the sites. The mattress was terrible and the toilet was right up against the sink making it hard to sit on. Small bar fridge. Air conditioner showed 16deg but we had to open the window as so hot. The unit was clean. There was on site managers and they were helpful. City tax had to be paid in cash. Overall, the unit served its purpose!
