This is Rome and a four star hotel is really a three star. The area is great in the center of things. Don't really know how the AC or heat works as the weather is great. Breakfast is reasonable in a nice roof top restaurant . Rooms are old in an old Rome hotel . But that's Rome

The property was convenient very clean right by Parliament. My problems were the bed was too hard, especially if you have a back problem like I do and the Wi-Fi that they advertise did not work very well or at all overall it did the job for us for three days. Also coming from the USA I did not like the half door shower. The floor was soaked every time, and we tried real hard not to, but they reiterate the beds were painfully hard, and the Wi-Fi was nonexistent.

The Hotel is centrally located with in walking distance of major attractions in Rome. Hotel was immaculate from entrance all the way to the roof top. Staff was very friendly and attentive in assisting with questions etc. complimentary breakfast and roof top location was excellent.

The hotel is right in front of Parliament Square, which is blocked off from cars and open only to the public and hotel guests. The area is secured 24/7 by government security personnel, making it very safe. The hotel is clean, the staff are very friendly, and I absolutely love it.

If you like classic quality, you will love this. Staff were amazing, great continental breakfast. Location is ideal to visit everything, great restaurants on the door step. Rooftop terrace has amazing views. Aircon isn’t 5* but does cool the room . The staff make you feel very welcome. Would definitely stay again.

Convenient Location, Spotty WiFi

The WiFi in Room 440 doesn't work, so pick another room. My personal devices with international plans, my hot spot and the hotel-run wifi all didn't work. With the exception of that, we thought the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The wait staff was very friendly and engaging. The location is directly across from the Italian Parliament building, so there is constant security. It's also very centrally located. You can walk to most places. While this cannot be attributed to the hotel, the hotel offers to arrange for the airport pick up. We provided our flight number and time of landing. The driver apparently arrived at exactly the time of landing we had provided. Our plane was 10 minutes late and it took us another 50 minutes to disembark and go through customs, (no checked bags). The driver texted and said she couldn't wait any longer and that she was leaving, but that she would return in one hour. It was 2 am and I didn't want to wait at an empty airport with my 11 year old son. She insisted that we would be charged. We ended up getting a taxi and saved about 15 euros. We also refused to pay for the driver. If you arrange for the pick up from the hotel, be sure to account for the time that you disembark.

Colonna Palace is a decent tourist hotel in the heart of Rome. Its best attribute is, undoubtedly , its location. Right across the parliament, and within just a few minutes of walking from the Trevi fountain, and the Pantheon. Just about all of Rome’s major attractions are within a 20-25 minute walk, including the Coliseum and the Vatican. On the other hand, because the hotel is right in front of the parliament, the square has frequent demonstrations during the day, and loud tourists during some nights, whose noise is noticeable even on the fifth floor. The room (at least the one I stayed in) was very small, with effectively no space to move around. The toilet was decent size, modern and clean (the full size bidet was a pleasant surprise), however, there was signs of (possibly former) mold on the edges of the bathtub and the walls. Those should have been cleaned. The breakfast is fine, though there could be a bit more variety in cheese and cold cuts. The pastries were not very good either. There is free WiFi, however, the signal strength was too weak, and the connection was useless. I was unable to use WiFi. The front staff is attentive and helpful. The rooftop terrace has some spectacular views. Overall, it is not quite the four star hotel it advertises itself; however, there are enough good things about the hotel that I would probably stay here again when I return to Rome.

Excellent location and convenient to walk to many sights! Great views over city and nice area to sit and cool water jacuzzi pool . Great breakfast included. Negatives- some areas need refresh paint. Walls heavily scuffed! (Our room). Busy area as political buildings there so cannot have drop up ( pick up) at Lobby doors so had to drag luggage around side of hotel over cobblestones! No thanks! Some staff- rude or ignored us. Not important guests I guess! No kettle / coffee maker in room so asked for a tea! Seemed to be a serious offence. Drank our water and left over drink from outing in rooftop - not allowed! Had to order from bar- but that entails ordering from lobby bar to be delivered up to you. Strange set up!
