Small, cheap, and really nice.

Price very good. Rooms are quite small - too small for us who brought a lot of luggage. Bathroom great.

Quaint hotel in the style of the 1900's in Rio. Pleasant atmosphere, close to two Metro stops, away from the crowds during New Years.

Excellent value

Incredibly kind service from the staff. Exceptionally helpful. My bags were lost by airline. Desk men did everything they could to assist me and familiarize me wth neighborhood. Interestingly themed hotel. Small rooms, but classy, professional operation. Nice breakfast. Close to two metro stops. You can be at the beach in the water in about half hour.

Small but perfectly suitable

Smaller room than I anticipated but it ended up being perfectly suitable. Quiet street just minutes from the beach and close to public transport. Highly recommend this hotel.

Good location. 10min walk to Flamengo Beach. Close to amenities, e.g. Metro, restaurants, shops, supermarket, etc. A short drive to Santos Dumont Airport. Very convenient if you are flying in/ out from there. We took Uber which cost us ~R$10. The double room would be a bit small for 2 big people. The shower cubicle has some drainage issue whereby there was always water ponding on the floor after shower. But generally no big issue. Breakfast is good with a variety. Staff at the recept are kind and helpful.

Clean and convenient hotel with good service

We had good stay at hotels 1900. Thankful to the receptionists whom speak good English and gave clear direction to us. The location is near to everything and easy access.

Nice find, hotel on quiet street, near everything!

An excellent hotel with great staff, nice rooms, and the best towels. This will be our regular stay over when visiting Rio. In a historic neghborhood with everything accessible by walking or Metro. made a five day stay into 10 ir was so relaxing and pleasant.

When yor babe smiles at you, go to Rio 1900 Hotel

Staff was exceptional, friendly, welcoming, knowledgable and made us feel at home from the start. The roms are dirrerent years with events that happened in Brazil's modern history. A plague in the room tells the importance of the year with photos of the event. An original comcept for a hotel ambiance!

Avoid the basement

Initially we were given a room on the bottom floor. It smelled like urine and was moldy. The “manager” came, looked at it, and agreed it was shockingly gross. He moved us to a different room. The rooms were small and had no outside window, but the staff was helpful.

Mthis is my second stay in this hotel . Smalls rooms but very functional and clean . Very nice breakfast and the stuff is very careful. The hotel is in catete a nice neighborhood, there is a metrostation very close.

Not all the rooms have the same quality

I have stayed various times in this hotel. I like the neighborhood and the prices are not very expensive. The rooms are small and noisy but mostly decent. Last time Expedia gave me a good deal on the price. When I arrived I have been given a terrible room. The room did not have a proper toilet with a door. Instead there were some glass panels with shower and toilet inside them arranged very ugly and dangerous was. Mind you that this was double room. I actually fell once trying to get out of toilet I could have get seriously injured.

great lil hotel

Rooms though small are well appointed and great use of space. Breakfast selection was ok, but it is much the same everwhere else, be great to add muesli to the buffet. Staff were great!

Near metro and beach and very nice

Close to metro and Flamengo beach. Flamengo is nice for walking, running, casual meal at the cafes in the park. Nice street and the hotel is well run, clean, nice breakfast and free soup and bread in the evening if you're around. A little outdoor patio in front which is nice for relaxing. Neighborhood is grittier than Copacabana or other more upscale areas, but genuine and pleasant. A great value. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Probably best for couple and business travelers (although no business services that I could see).

Good hotel, great location

Stayed at the 1900 for five nights, on a part work, part leisure trip. Really enjoyed it. The staff are helpful and speak very good English; the breakfast buffet is good; the room and bathroom were comfortable and the whole place is recently refurbished.

If i will visit Rio again i will definitely stay

Stayed there for 5 nights (from June 19)in a Double room in the second floor with window,excellent free WiFi,very nice free soap Room has minibar,safe,ac,hairdryer,tv( no English channels ),shampoo Excellent breakfast (included) Free early check in was a major plus ,thank you Staff speaks good English and was extremely helpful Very nearby metro station ,and buses to the Christ the Redeemer Paid 105 Real for maracana match(transportation and ticket arranged by hotel),bus was full, at stadium they give me my ticket and they left me on my own after the match there was a pickup location the bus took us back to our hotels (I was the last one to be transported to my hotel about 2h).Maracana stadium experience was great ,however the tour company was an ok(it could be much better ) The hotel does have an eco choice program (10 rial minibar discount/day if towels and linens wasn't changed maximum 3 days), however room will be cleaned if u want.I use it and got my discount . To the downside: Hotel exchange rate 2.8 for the $ ,however near the metro you will find much better rate (3.08) Room price a little bit high (210 Real/day)

Nice clean & friendly hotel

Not near Copacabana or Ipanema beaches, but was easy to get to beaches by metro which was close to hotel. The hotel staff spoke good English , organised excellent tours for me , and suggested good places to eat. Great value for money. I preferred a great hotel away from tourist strip to a terrible hotel for same money at Copacabana .

Great hotel!

We had a lovely time during our 2 night stay. The hotel was close to the metro and easy to find. The room was small, but very clean, with a comfortable bed and nice shower. The breakfast was also very good. But what made this hotel really stand out was the friendly and helpful people at the front desk. They were always willing to help plan the sites for the day, transportation, and were willing to any any and all questions.
