Great location!

This was our second stay at this property. The location is perfect! Situated right on the main walking street- step out of the hotel and you are right there!! Can be noisy at night if your room faces the street. Rooms are on the smaller side, but very comfortable and clean, only slight signs of wear and tear, but nothing that would keep me from staying there again. Staff is friendly. Breakfast buffet is good, limited options, but just enough. The seating is a bit tight, and my only complaint is the staff starts to take food away before the buffet ends- so you do feel a bit rushed to eat, they do not mess around to get you out, so keep this in mind if you are the type that shows up late to breakfast! There is a great bakery/cafe right next to the hotel "Sandholt", so this is also an option, and I do highly recommend this place. Parking is a challenge if you have a rental car. There is a parking garage about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It is not super convenient, and not cheap, but it serves its purpose. The hotel allowed us to park our car behind the hotel for a few minutes the day we checked out so we did not have to drag our bags to the parking garage, so this was very nice! If it is your first time in Reykjavik and you will have a rental car, I highly recommend you familiarize yourself with the city parking situation- there are a few apps you can download, we used "Parka". Overall, I highly recommend Sand Hotel- I will for sure stay there again next year.

We really enjoyed our stay here The location was perfect although we didn’t understand straight away it’s a street without car access but once we figured that out it was awesome Very helpful staff and a great driver to take us to the airport too Highly recommend

This hotel was top notch!! The location is central to a plethora of shops, restuarants and bars. The breakfast choices were of a very high quality and served until 10am, which is great if you want a leisurely start to the morning. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location is hard to beat, right on the pedestrian street and an easy walk to so many shopping and dining options. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean. I wish we had more time there!
