As the hotel is on Laugavegur it is on the main shopping street and cultural area of Reykjavik, and very close to the centre with all the main attractions. Staff on reception very friendly and helpful, as were the staff serving breakfast.Room and en suite was clean, plenty of towels, soaps etc, kettle and tea/coffee in the room, and plenty of plug sockets to charge cameras, phones, tablets etc.
Some of the rooms overlook Hús máls og menningar (The Old Bookstore) which every evening has a band playing live between 8pm-11pm (free entry, the band is very good!), so if you want an early night you might be disturbed.
Although there is a lift to all the floors, there's a few steps to access the entrance from the street, then a short flight of stairs to the lift.
