Finding the hotel was a challenge. Need better markings on the road. The breakfast was good but people were confused with the egg cups in the refrigerator and one person put their egg in the waffle iron instead of the flat iron farther down the counter. They had "build your omelet", so after you poured the egg on the flat round grill, you scooped cheese, ham or sausage onto it and close the grill. It took a while to cook so people were backed up. They did have boiled eggs, yogurt, make your own waffle, breads and cereal with milk too. Accommodations were excellent. Staff wonderful.

Short get away

Place was nice friendly staff with lots of local information. Bed could use an upgrade but we slept fine. Breakfast was a nice touch with the omelette maker with choice of ham or sausage and cheese to top it, we would definitely stay on our next trip to the area. We also liked the town and walked to the park for music.

This was not a terribly expensive hotel but it was extremely clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful and it was centrally located in Red Wing. We would definitely stay here again if we were back in Red Wing.

Staff very pleasant and helpful. Lobby, halls and room very clean and well maintained. I enjoyed the breakfast options. My wife has a wheat alergy. She wished for some glutten free options like cherrios and more fruit. Maybe a gf muffin? Over all this hotel is affordable and well staffed.

I’ve stayed at Nichols for the past few months often and on while working in the Redwing area. I’ve been to almost every hotel in town and I always go back to Nichols because it’s just so friendly convenient and clean. Great staff, very courteous, great cleaning staff as well.. just can’t go wrong with this place. I’ve never had a bad or even questionable experience there. I love it. Also, it’s in walking distance to a couple of pubs and bars and restaurants so that that’s a huge plus. Love it love it love it go in there again next week.

For the cost of the room (over $250 for one night), we were very disappointed. The air conditioner was so loud we had to turn it off. The TV didnt work. And the remote was broken. There was no shuttle to treasure island, and finding transportation to the concert we were going to was a nightmare.

Friendly staff. Good breakfast overall. Milk was out of date but staff replaced once told. Room was himid at 64 degrees when we arrived. Fridge was vibrating in the wooden enclosure all night. Bed was not a queen. Shower went cold quickly. We arrived late and left early but the staff was great and it was no hassle to check in or out. Overall I would stay agin but I know what I am paying for now. A place to only sleep.
