We enjoyed our time at castaways. Fan and aircon worked well, the bed was comfortable, could do with updating the pillows as they have become a bit hard. Bathroom was spacious and clean as was the room. Quirky things like the front door screen would stick at the top and a couple of the little day to day repairs could be finished of better with a bit of paint etc. Add a note to housekeeping to check fridge temp dial when flipping the room as the freezer compartment in ours had frozen over because the last people had obviously played with it and when we added food to the fridge it couldn't keep it frozen so we woke to a huge puddle on the floor from it defrosting, Easy fix for us but easy to prevent too. The Staff are absolutely amazing and so lovely. Ate often at the bar/restaurant and it was brilliant. I would stay again just expect the odd quirk. :)

Plus's - Bar on the beach try the mega alcoholic chocolate delight friendly staff comfortable bed..The island dance show and great live music on Sunday..a pool Negatives- small we called our verandah a cupboard..shower leaked onto floor, back door stuck, very limited kitchen. The whole property is tired..not good enough for the price. We are now staying elsewhere on the island that is luxury compared to the castaway and cheaper!

The beds were firm and super comfy for my husband and me. There is even a bookshelf in the reception, which was perfect for a 'swap a book'. Would stay again. I found it was not overcrowded. The continental breakfast was perfect for the warmer weather. :) thanks for our amazing stay!!

Lovely place with super-friendly staff. Comfy room with mini kitchen and self-catered breakfast provided. Are at restuarant most nights. Great snorkelling at high tide/rock pooling at low. Fab sunsets. Very quiet but we loved that.

We loved staying here as a couple for our honeymoon! Only dislike is that our hair dryer didnt work. Would recomend this place for anyone staying, the food and drinks were also toop notch! Staff were so kind and friendly!

The staff are awesome, also highly recommend the seafood chowder, rib eye steak and fish and chips. Don’t drink more than 1 ice tea, it’ll mess you up.

In a shocking state. We wanted to walk straight out but had no option but to endure our room for three nights. The staff are still excellent and the food very good but we all felt sorry for them having to work under new owners who have let this place turn into a run down, dirty, boring, dump. Castaway had a good reputation for quite some time under the previous owners. But now it has lost its appeal big time. You can’t go down for breakfast anymore, instead you get a miserable bit of food to have in your room. Wilson’s bar is gone and there is no atmosphere at all. Such a shame. Our room wasn’t clean one of the bathrooms was disgusting it had stains and in ground dirt all over the tiles. The fridge didn’t cool our food and had to be removed as it was out of order. The dishwasher was falling to bits on the bottom so we didn’t want to use it incase it broke down as well. The power kept tripping out so you couldn’t have too many appliances on at once. The stairs up to our room are dangerous and almost falling to bits. The pool was grotty and it needed a good clean. The TV didn’t go at all. I was very embarrassed that I took my friends to Castaway, it was not in this state 2 years ago. It is no longer a resort and I would not recommend it to anyone.

We had a great stay at Castaway which is in a great and handy location. We got a great price on Wotif. The room had all we needed. A comfortable bed, air con (is a must have for us), a ceiling fan, a modern bathroom/toilet and a pool on site. There was a good view to the beach with the restaurant metres away from our room, not noisy at all and occasionally busy. There was a bonfire on the Sunday we were there with quite a few people congregated watching the sunset. The free wifi at the restaurant was very good. We had no roosters crowing in the morning which was a plus but there's a few local dogs barking and fighting that can wake you at night. The continental breakfast is not a buffet but a hamper provided to the room and topped up when you choose to. We thought it was a good idea and a great way to minimise food wastage. All the staff were pleasant and our rooms were cleaned when required. Note: No cleaning is done on Sundays. A couple of issues. There is minimal parking on site if you hire a car. Another issue which is not the fault of the property, was that one of restaurant employees (who are castaway workers) was smoking near our room and the odour drifted inside. There is an open beach the same distance but in the opposite direction. Go there instead!
