We recently spent three nights at Las Palmas by the Sea, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The resort’s beachfront location in Puerto Vallarta’s South Hotel Zone is ideal, offering easy access to the beach and nearby attractions. The beach area was clean and easily accessible. The resort features two pools, including an adults-only pool, which provided a relaxing environment.

This resort was great for the price. Just didn’t enjoy the actual room. There were no amenities in the room like a mini fridge or coffee pot and the living room furniture was old and worn m, but the bed was very nice . The pool, the staff, and all inclusive were amazing. Again great for the price.
The rooms are getting a little old. I still like the atmosphere there though. It’s quiet and smaller. Buffet food was pretty good. Rosa’s omelettes in the morning were the best !
Las Palmas was almost perfect, but our complaints are minimal. We stayed there in mid-April, before the weather turns too hot and before mosquito season. The cool evenings were wonderful, especially letting the breeze blow into your room with the balcony door open. The food was always delicious and varied enough that you could avoid eating the same thing twice in a row, and the drinks were pretty good and plentiful. My kids loved the piñadas (virgin piña coladas). The pool was refreshing during the middle of the day and the cleaning staff were very accommodating. We weren’t thrilled about the timeshare upsell we kept getting from some folks posted at the entrance, but being firm made our intentions clear. The only other thing we didn’t like was the lack of air movement in our room at night. It gets stuffy and warm quickly. One or two changes would make the experience excellent, especially for summer guests: 1) ceiling fans in the rooms to get air moving overnight, and 2) a lockable screen door on the glass balcony door, to let air into your room while keeping out the insects (and the resident cats!).
Amazing stay at Las Palmas! Everyone was SO welcoming. Smaller resort so not a ton of food options, but everything we had was good. Nightly entertainment. And David the bartender in the lobby was the BEST.
Resort is definitely more locals, and we should have practiced our Spanish, but everyone spoke at least a little English and were so encouraging when we tried to learn. Completely our fault we didn’t try to learn more before we went 🙂
Would highly recommend, cannot wait to return!
Most of it was great. The real dealbreaker here is the food quality. It was poor and left a lot to be desired. I guess that’s just the norm for all-inclusive. The installations were beautiful. There was a lot of noise until late but that’s just normal as well for these establishments. My 2 cents are don’t get the all inclusive just buy the lodging and eat elsewhere.
Beautiful view in front the sea! beautiful views in the restaurant too but the next time i will not pay all inclusive at least stay on the hotel all you trip
First time to Puerto Vallarta and an all inclusive hotel, Las Palmas. The staff is fantastic!!!! They were able to change our reservation from a room with two single beds to a king. The hotel is older and does need some minor updating, but it was so clean, offered all our needs, and felt very safe. We loved the adults only pool and hot tub area. This is also a very family friendly place. Another pool was for all. Lots of great activities for both kids and adults throughout the day. They have tables set up in the atrium to hook you up with off site excursions. Fantastic service by every staff member. The food was okay. Nothing fancy but we so loved having local fresh food all day long. Enjoyed the ease of beverages all day long and fresh water that felt safe. We loved being right on the beach and having sunrise and sunset walks was glorious. Getting ground transportation was super easy. Their staff can call a taxi or you walk out to the corner and can catch a bus. There are numerous markets, food vendors and shopping within walking distance. I can't say enough good stuff. It is not a 5 star, but that being said, this is a fantastic and economic place for anyone to thoroughly enjoy!!!! Muchos gracias !!!!
The hotel itself was very average. I have been to Mexico multiple times, but I would say that this resort needed an update more than most places I’ve gone to. When we got to the resort as we had booked an ocean view room, and there was no balcony and half of our “ocean view” was blocked by a very large Palapa. When we asked to change rooms, we got told there was no availability and no help was given beyond that. The staff were very hit or miss, they were either absolutely excellent and wonderful, smiling and happy. Or it was very apparent they weren’t very happy to be at work, and they pretended not to remember you after interacting with them several times. The food was mostly buffet, there were only 2 options to book a reservation for a dinner each night. I found the buffet food to be quite redundant and repetitive. It also catered to their Mexican clientele which normally I don’t mind but again the food was quite repetitive There were also very limited options for snacks and the snack bar during the day often looked like it was quite picked over or or the food was very overcooked. The bar and the bartenders were phenomenal. Drinks were mixed well and there was always access to water which was lovely and they gave you lots of water in your room. The adult only pool had very limited seating around it, which was frustrating and lounge chairs were often occupied by “towels” and not people. The kids pool often played loud music that could be heard everywhere on the resort.
Terrible “resort” all around 1950s style. No room service one bedroom outlet minuscule pool. Food was horrible tasted like last weeks leftover. We checked out first day and found Villa de Palmar which was excellent.

This is a very average property. There is only one buffet to have your meals and the food is ok, nothing great. It seemed like we were eating the same thing every day. I would give the alcohol a C-, the wine was terrible and you couldn’t taste the liquor in a hard drink. There really isn’t much to do around the immediate area, shopping and restaurants are about a 3 mile taxi ride. The staff were very nice and the hotel is very clean.
I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
The customer service at the front desk was absolutely HORRIBLE to both my man and myself. There were two times I approached them. I went to ask a question for more toilet paper and to I ask for help to find a meeting location for a Zipline they were down right RUDE. They even said crude things as I turned to leave, thinking I didn’t understand what they were saying.
I received more kindness and assistance Dow the road from the customer service at the front desk of Krystal Puerto Vallarta.
The food was mediocre at best.
We had the vendors, that wander the beach, gather right outside our balcony. There was little to no peace on the balcony to enjoy the beach and the sound of the ocean. Their “security” was more concerned about the patrons that paid to stay there than anything else.
The waitstaff, bartenders, and house keepers were kind and did a great job keeping the hotel clean and running.
Definitely not happy or satisfied with this stay. Very disappointing.
Staff was awesome; Luis, Salvador, Miguel and Edgar were amazing. Loved the location, food, everything was great! Go back there again in a heartbeat!!!
