This is a beautiful hotel with beautiful English gardens. The renovated rooms are clean and well appointed. Bedding and comfort is excellent. The downside of this hotel is that unless you opt for what they call the Butler service, you will not get a poolside lounge chair in a good location. The pool is situated on the grounds in a way that they're not many chairs that have sun for most of the day. The butlers are out at six in the morning, reserving these chairs for the people that pay for their service as well as the "owners" of some units. It's easier to get a lounge chair on the beach, but it feels like the chairs are lined up like you're on a cruise ship very close to each other and not very appealing. The beach chairs have no cushions on them. The beach is not raked on any regular basis so there are piles of dried seaweed all over. The island itself is very expensive. First time I've been to a country where the taxis charge by person instead of by car. Most rides charged between $6 and $10 a person for a ride of 5 to 6 minutes. We've been to some of the most highly rated restaurants on the island as well as some more casual places. They were all uniformly overpriced, by New York suburban standards, and offered mediocre to pretty good quality. You will be paying a lot for not exceptional food. I cannot recommend this hotel, nor the island.

The pool is lovely, the complimentary breakfast is a nice touch and the beach is wonderful. Some of the staff members are so friendly and welcoming while others look like you are annoying them with just asking for a water. The rooms are so dated, bordering dirty. Not one thing about this resort is 5 stars. They are saying they will renovate the rooms next year the quality of our room was a disgrace.

Overall, we were disappointed with the experience given the price point. The property felt noticeably dated, and service throughout our stay was consistently slow and, for the most part, unenthusiastic. We travel frequently and are accustomed to high-end resorts, but for the rates being charged, there are far better options available elsewhere. This property would greatly benefit from a meaningful management and service overhaul to align the experience with the cost.

Although I enjoyed my trip, our room was very nice. But after reading reviews on the staff & how "friendly and hospitable" they were I was quite disappointed. No one knew anything - it was a different story every time you asked a worker. They only people who were knowledgable were the mangers for catering and one other. The overall manager was rude and the concierge gave us wrong information which was par for the course and aggravating.

Overall, a mixed experience. The room was overall clean with two incidents- there was a splotch of blood on the headboard that wasn’t cleaned even when I asked specifically and there was a bikini sanitary liner left on the floor from a prior guest. I cleaned it myself. Yuck in both counts. The pool is spectacular as is the beach. Service is wonderful, with very friendly and happy staff. The breakfast was awful and food and drinks overall very overpriced.
