We arrived during a rare one-day power outage and the staff did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The property was extremely clean and everyone on the staff extremely professional and helpful. Each morning's breakfast was absolutely wonderful and there was port wine and snacks in the lobby in the afternoon. We loved the central location in Porto, but it can be somewhat noisy at night coming from the cafes and restaurants nearby. Overall, I would stay here again without hesitation.

Amazing hotel! Perfect location for getting around Porto- we rarely needed a taxi! Quickly to the waterfront. Room was great size with seating area and room divider. There was a little bar area with tea/coffee, mini-fridge, robes, and slippers- perfect for a 4 night stay. Loved that the toilet and shower were separate. Favorite part was the cute terrace area off the room! The weather didn’t really cooperate so we couldn’t use it as much as we would have liked but it was lovely to have the option! Staff were helpful and friendly! Would definitely recommend and return back to!

Stay was very nice and location is great. If you are bothered by noise, there are cafes below and there is music and singing in the evening. Not sure if there are quieter rooms available. We faced the cafes. it did not bother us.

This place has character! We loved opening our windows to a city view and entertainment on the plaza. Breakfast and coffee were outstanding. Have already sent friends to stay there. Porto and this hotel are magical!!

Located in the best location. Easily walkable to great restaurants and less than 10 min walk to the water. Beautiful property and the staff was amazing. Best White Sangria I have ever had.

We loved this hotel. It was charming and felt like what we though Porto should feel like. We got a balcony room and I was glad we did I. I enjoyed opening the doors and watching the action. We liked the breakfast and the complimentary bottle of wine. It was also close to everything.

This is a great hotel. We were there in winter so it wasn’t too busy and we were upgraded to a larger room that overlooked the main square. We were able to open our Juliet balcony doors and listen to the street performers from our the comfort of our room. We drove and arriving and parking was challenging because of the subway construction but once we were settled everything was fantastic.

Beautiful hotel with fabulous staff

We had a fantastic week's stay at the Porto AS 1829 Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable; the staff were extremely friendly and spoke perfect English; and the location was fantastic. Our bathroom could have done with a little maintenance - there was a bit of a leak at the bottom of the shower head, and from the sink's cold water tap - but this didn't detract from our stay. We didn't opt for the breakfast as it was a little out of our price range, and unfortunately didn't have lunch or dinner at the hotel, but the restaurant looked clean and inviting. We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel in the heart of the historic city centre!
