A wonderful location, really central for everything, although the name of the hotel on the exterior is completely obscured by a large tree, making finding it almost impossible. The main entrance is hidden in the corner, where you have to walk past all the smokers sat at the tables from the next door cafe. The smoke drifts upwards to the rooms on the front of the hotel. The team were all lovely, happy to help and very welcoming. Room was a good size, with some quirks. The bathroom light switch was nowhere near the bathroom, smell and sound transfer through the connecting door to the room next door. The open wardrobe doesn't accommodate anything longer than a shirt or jacket. There was no plug for the sink, the paint was peeling from the tiles in the shower and the bath mat couldn't go on the floor in the bathroom, if you wanted to use the shower as there was no clearance under the shower door to pass over it. The bed was comfy and the shutters kept out the sound and light. It would be nice to have a bar to relax in downstairs. The team in the restaurant for dinner were wonderful and the food was great but the breakfast service was somewhat lack lustre with mosquitos on the pastries. Food was delicious though both hot and cold. Would stay again - knowing the querks to work around.

Beautiful property. Crisp linens, embroidered pillowcases, lovely toiletries. Welcomed with a glass of Port wine and a delicious Portuguese tart. The restaurant had fabulous food offered indoors or out on the patio. Location is perfect. 10 minute walk to the river where you can take Portuguese boat rides viewing the 6 bridges. Perfect for shopping, cycling and strolling through the cobble stone streets! Loved it!

Great location and service!

Great location! Customer service was great, the location was so central with very nice nightly entertainment just down the street for everyone to enjoy. They welcome you every day with a delicious pastel de nata and a glass of wine. Breakfast was very good, the only thing we did not like was that room 209 had a very uncomfortable shower situation in a claw tub which was very slippery and water got everywhere! In talking to other people, they had a walk in shower.

Just wonderful, close to the heart of the historic part of Porto. Lots of restaurants, shopping, a few blocks to the beautiful riverfront, metro, and you can easily walk across the bridge to Gaia for more shopping, restaurants and the cable car. Room was very clean, we enjoyed the balcony and the nice breeze, At night there were street musicians playing saxophone & guitar. Staff was friendly, called taxis when we needed them, and even helped us with our baggage a few blocks away because there was some street construction next to hotel (which we couldn’t hear at all when windows were closed to our balcony) and the taxi couldn’t get as close as usual to hotel. There was an excellent Italian restaurant around the corner called Pizzaria Luzzo - highly recommend this hotel!

Great stay

Had a very nice room overlooking the pedestrian area. Location is walking distance to entire city. Area busy with restaurants and shopping. Great restaurants in the hotel. Staff very friendly.
