A beautiful place in the forest, with superb amenities throughout the rental. In the city AND in the country, with interesting wildlife, quiet, and great views. Nice hosts and many fun things to do, in a well maintained downstairs apartment with full access to a gorgeous deck and large backyard. Comfortable and cozy, yet spacious. The hosts were welcoming when we arrived and then we had the backyard to ourselves to enjoy. We loved it and hope to vacation there again.

What a great place and people! This is one of the more top notch places I have stayed in terms of the people hosting it. They definitely know what they are doing. The forethought put into the amenities is probably the best out of all the places I have stayed over the years. I come to Portland often to see my kids and sometimes get a VRBO. Billy was just a text away for anything we needed and super quick response. This place will be my first choice from now on.

I want to first say that the home was incredibly cozy, which is exactly what we wanted. I believe we would have had a different experience during a different season because we could have enjoyed more of the outdoor amenities. The home was well-stocked with just about every convenience you can imagine to stay in and enjoy yourself. I chose the “house” and entire place to yourself” filters. The view was gorgeous and the fireplace gave us the perfect atmosphere. That said, we intentionally searched for a home that we could enjoy peace and quiet. This was a super last-minute trip because we wanted some time to decompress before the holidays and end of year workload. While we appreciated the communication with the hosts, the listing did not clearly state that they live in a unit above the property. We heard footsteps, snoring, and even the TV and/or people talking through the duration of the trip. I’m not at all upset because that’s their home, however, it would have been nice to have that clearly stated in the listing. That made it difficult to enjoy a truly private stay because of we could hear them, they could likely hear us. We’re not loud, but it definitely made us more self-conscious.

We were so happy with our accommodations at The Owl’s Nest. Billy and Carol could not have been more welcoming or more thorough in every detail of our stay. We really appreciated the thoroughly stocked kitchen, and the many forms of entertainment for our 9 year old, including board games, darts, corn hole, and her personal favorite, the rope swing! We definitely plan on staying here again for our next visit to Portland!

This is one of the best-stocked places I've ever stayed in this country or overseas. It did have some foodstuffs, and a whole range of spices and condiments, but what really made the difference was the available kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room equipment and supplies. It was SO nice to have everything I could ever need to make meals.The place was large and roomy, and very, very clean. The outdoors was beautiful and private, and had a variety of sitting areas. They actually own 5 whole acres (in Portland!!), so that was a nice surprise.The owners were on-site (upstairs), but I never even heard them at all. However, when I had questions, they were prompt, helpful, and very friendly. I've had a lot of different experiences with VRBO and AirB&B, and this was by far my best one yet.
Looking past the hot tub toward a nook with some nice landscaping (and a waterfall), and you can see our deck rail to the right.

We spent a lovely weekend visiting family. Our family enjoyed our stay. The kids enjoyed all the fun outdoor activities & chalk board. Adults enjoyed the jacuzzi. Everything was very clean , beds were very cozy & even had a pack a play for the little one to use. Temperature of the house was perfect! Such a beautiful property & relaxing. Carol and Billy are amazing hosts!!! They have made a retreat in this beautiful secluded property. The amenities have spoiled us to stay at future VRBO’s!! They have everything you could possibly want/need and more that you never knew you needed!! This place and these people are 5 star!!! More than that if there was a higher rating. Perfect Relaxing Getaway

This property is cute, comfy, homey, relaxing and tucked away for privacy, while being close enough to pop into the hub of the city. The hot tub is a bonus- very clean. Comfy couches and throws on the deck to enjoy your morning cup of joe. Well stocked with anything and everything you could think of to make your stay comfortable. Carol and Bill are excellent hosts!

Home away from home

A resort setting without resort fees and crowds. A very peaceful amd relaxing stay. Only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Carol and Billy are very communicative. My wfe is coming back for a wedding and will get to spend a full week here with her sister. So lucky.

Thanksgiving treat

We stayed at the Owl’s Nest over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The kitchen had everything needed to enjoy a meal…and the place is very peaceful and relaxing and also close to all that Portland has to offer. Would happily stay here again.
